of Conway, AR
June 28, 1946 - May 8, 2025
Gail Horned passed away on May 8, 2025, in Conway, AR. She was born on June 28, 1946, in Warren, AR to Russell and Edna West.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Charles Horned; her daughter Holly McKenna (Tim); her beloved grandchildren Abby Adams (Jacob) and John McKenna all of Conway: her sister Kathy Griffith of Stuttgart as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Steve, Mike, and Johnny West; and sisters Phyllis Vansandt and Betty Pearman.
Gail and Charles met and were married in Dewitt, AR where he worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and she worked at the Dewitt Hospital. They later moved to Little Rock, AR where she graduated from Baptist School of Nursing. When they moved to Conway in 1971, she was the nurse for Dr. Sam Daniel for 19 years until his retirement. She then worked for Conway Anesthesiology until she retired.
Like every woman, Gail loved to shop at the Colony Shop when it was still open as well as TJ Maxx and Belk, especially when a new truck full of merchandise arrived. She also had a love of making jewelry. She could envision how a pile of beads would come together to make a statement as one entered a room wearing her jewelry. Working in her yard when she was able, always caring for her ferns and impatiens each year. Her love for her grandchildren Abby and John was unfailing and she was especially proud to attend Abby’s wedding last September and loved when John would stop by her house for lunch.
Gail was a Christian and believed in the Lord Jesus Christ. She is with Him today.
A special thank you to Dr. Brooks Lawrence, Dr. Mary Shaver, Dr. David Jones, Dr. Gelina Buslig as well as the nurses, techs, and rehab staff at Baptist Hospital in Conway with whom she became very close with.

Gail always encouraged me and had a smile on her face every time I'd come walking through the front door at their house or many years later when I would see her at family events when Abby and John were little. I treasure the jewelry she made me because they're the most beautiful pieces I own. I will miss her dearly. Prayers are going up for Charlie, Holly, and the rest of her family. Love you all.
I cherish my memories of spending time in the Horned home while growing up. Much love to Charlie, Holly and family.

Gail was a lovely and kind woman. My deepest sympathies to Charlie, Holly (Tim), Abby, and John and all the people that loved her and will miss her.
