Harriette graduated from England High School in 1958. She worked for Godsey Motors for 33 years before her illness. Many gathered to talk over coffee as she connected people and prayers never forgetting the needs of friends and family. There was always a paint brush and dishcloth nearby to keep her home tidy and ready for company. She enjoyed bike riding and walking, sometimes running when the mosquito sprayer was involved. She enjoyed shopping for a deal and blessing friends and family with her finds and was the best gift giver. Many miles were traveled around the state to watch sporting events that included her brothers. She found so much joy in family and all the activities that involved. She also served at her church, First Baptist Church, until her illness, teaching Sunday School, Jr High Girls Class, Girls and Action and never missed a service morning or night. Her love of the Lord was infectious.
As her illness progressed many moments of traveling the roads with her sister were some of the sweetest times. They never missed activities that included many events for the grand niece and nephew that spun her world. Family meant everything to her.
Harriette was preceded in death by her parents, brother Harold his wife June, brother David and brother-in-law, Quin Melton, and special friends Jackie, Martha Jean, Sissie, Dean, and Mildred. She is survived by her sister, Molly Melton, and brother Jerry (Becky), sister-in-law Karen Kossover, eight nieces and nephews and a great niece and nephew plus extended family Mary Beth, Susan and Jean Ellen and a host of other family and friends who will never forget her or her love of family. So many loved Harriette through her illness and life but some special friends went above and beyond the past few years, Bill and MariBen Newton and Kenny Van Dalsem and other special friends Sherrie, Beth, Bobbie, Pepper, Gay, J.C. and Patricia.
Arrangements are entrusted to Roller England in England, Arkansas. A small graveside service at Mulberry Cemetery Pavillion will be May 12th at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 201 E. Haywood, England, Arkansas, 72046.
PRAYERS FOR THE FAMILY.
We shared many a laugh. No doubt where she is today.
I can't start to tell you how much I loved my Harriette. She was in my life from the day I was born. The entire Kossover family were part of my family and cared for me. I am blessed to have precious memories with the entire family that I will never forget. Harriette and I spoke on the phone almost daily. God blessed you my dear friend.♥ï¸ðŸ™ðŸ»â™¥ï¸
