Twilla Jean Wallace

of Mountain View, AR

Twilla Jean Wallace was born May 29, 1943 to Thomas Leslie Miller and Leora E. Foster Miller in Craig, Missouri. Raised on a farm in northwest Missouri, she was the youngest of three children. Following high school, Twilla attended business school in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents and both brothers, Lavern and Keith.

Following time spent in Missouri, Kansas, and Oklahoma, she and her husband, E.A. Wallace, moved to Mountain View, Arkansas in 1981. She served as secretary of the United Methodist Church, where she also sang in the choir and worked on youth projects. In addition to being an avid homemaker, she was a Master Gardner, PEO member, skilled artist and seamstress, genealogy buff, and a fierce cribbage player. Above all, she adored and doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Twilla is survived by husband E.A. Wallace, two sons: Ron and Bentley (Darby); four grandchildren: Chase Wallace (Mandi), Elliott Wallace (John Carter), Natalie Martin (Cody), Miller Wallace; and four great-grandchildren: Tuff, Parker, Cade, and Carson.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church (116 Jefferson Street, Mountain View, Arkansas) Sunday, April 27 at 2:00PM, with interment at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View immediately following the service. Rev. John F. Michael will officiate both services.

Brian Sullivan, Cody Martin, Miller Wallace, Chase Wallace, Matt Sullivan, and Rush Sullivan will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Gil Wallace, Vic Setser, and Larry Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to P.E.O. Chapter DK of Stone County at 673 Sunset Valley Drive, Mountain View, Arkansas 72560.

Our hearts are broken for the loss of Twilla. She was the dearest of souls. Joyful, loving, generous, witty, and kind.
One of the good ones. She will be deeply missed, and forever held dear to us in our hearts and memories.
