Bobby Ray Freeman, 90, of Mayflower, Arkansas passed away peacefully February 1, 2025. He was born April 7,1934 in North Little Rock, Arkansas to Monroe J. Freeman and Audrey M. Byrd Freeman Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and his loving wife of 51 years, Carol Ann Edler Freeman.
Bobby was a Korean War veteran (July/l951- March/1955). He served his country as a US Navy boatswain mate third class on the USS Renville, a Haskell-class attack transport which received two battle stars for the Korean War. Bobby received the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the China Service Medal.
He loved to write songs, sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed driving charters for Continental Trailways for 20 years where he logged in over 3 million miles with safety awards. He later owned his own trucking business. Bob was a Mason and a member of the Sandhogs precision driving unit.
He is survived by daughter, Cheryl Brady (John Wayne) of Delaware, Arkansas; daughter, Bobbie Ann Turano; son, Mikel Ray Freeman both of Torrance, California; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be February 7, 2025 at 1:00pm at the Mayflower, AR Cemetery
