Emma Daugherty

of Mountain View, AR

October 8, 1948 - November 26, 2024

Emma Daugherty, 76, of Mountain View left her earthly life to her eternal life on November 26, 2024 with her loved ones by her side. She was born October 8, 1948 in Mountain View, Arkansas to Curtis and Mary (Hanks) Williams and was of the Baptist faith.

At a young age, she worked in the fields with her family picking cotton, vegetables and berries. She worked at the shirt factory, was a CNA at the nursing home, managed/cooked at the Big Flat general store and was a caregiver for her granddaughter, Lacey. She loved to go to yard sales, tend to her roses and cuddle with her dogs. She'd have Espy fill the bird feeder and watch the birds and squirrels from her porch. She loved to cook for her family. She would cook up some vegetable soup or chicken-n-dumplings then call the kids to come get their share when it was ready.

On May 12, 1965, she married J. W. Pitts at the age of sixteen. They had been married for twenty-five years when he passed away. On October 19, 1993, she married Espy Daughtery and was married for thirty years when he passed away in September.

Emma had a loving, caring, generous and kind soul. She loved and cherished her family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren put a twinkle in her eye. Grandma Emmie will be greatly missed by all her loving family and friends.

Emma is survived by her sons, Larry Dale Pitts and Michael (Sonya) Pitts; sister, Betty Martin; grandchildren, Lacey Pitts, Johnathon (Candace) Pitts, Samantha (Andy) Brown, Matthew (Meagan) Pitts, Michael Jay (Danielle) Pitts, Tanner (Kassidy) Pitts; sisters-in-law, Maxine (Benford) Smith, Faye Lawrence; ten great grandchildren, Hayden Bryd, Brooke Byrd, Landon Brown, Bryson Brown, Trenton Pitts, Sutherlyn Pitts, Karson Pitts, Kaebrie Pitts, Malory Pitts, Jaden Pitts, along with a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Mary (Hanks) Williams; her husbands, J. W. Pitts and Espy Daughtery; her siblings, Kenneth Forbus, Billy Forbus, Roy Dean Williams, Billly ''Jerry'' Williams, Donnie Williams, Jane Richardson, Alice Schrock; brother-in-law Ralph Daugherty; daughter-in-law, Arlene Pitts; great grandson, Jaxson Matthew Pitts and her beloved dogs, Star and Lady.

She will be laid to rest by her sister, Jane, with a graveside service to be held on Friday, November 29th at 2pm at the Historic Cemetery of Mountain View, AR with Bro. Bryan Wilkie officiating.

Pallbearers are her grandsons, Johnathon Pitts, Matthew Pitts, Michael Jay Pitts, Tanner Pitts and Andy Brown.
