Putt's law firm building owned by him adjoined my law office on sixth street here in Mountain Home, Arkansas, for many years until his retirement. He was not only a good lawyer, Putt was very adept at a lot of skills. When we both were just out of law school, he was putting shingles on his "new to him" house here in Mountain Home, Arkansas, So he called me to help him finish the shingling of his home as a rain storm was on its way to our area that would damage his home if not completed quickly. Didn't have to, but Putt insisted on paying me for my help when he was in need in spite of the fact that both of us had little money when we first started practicing law. When I first started practicing in this area, I accepted back then family, custody, divorce and criminal cases. So we both tried many personal injury, custody and divorce cases when he was on the other side representing the opposing client. I always knew that Putt was always going to be very astutely aware of the relevant issues and the relevant law. Bottom line Our area will be much poorer after losing Putt Wilbur. Praying that his family will have some comfort at this sad loss of Putt even though I am confident that Putt himself is now in Paradise. (Luke 23:42-43)
I have so many precious memories of Put. We had study hall together and the last thing we did was study. We played cards, told jokes, and had a great time in in study hall.
He was also my lawyer in later years.
May his memories comfort you. He will always be missed by those who knew him and loved him.
Norman is, and always will be, a great friend and one of the best trial lawyers I had the honor to try cases against when I was prosecutor. He was the third Deputy Prosecutor I hired, but he left me during the first year(1979) to devote more time to his private practice. As an opponent in court, I came to dread opposing him because he was an excellent attorney who often won, but he usually made me a better lawyer because I had to be to stand a chance against him in the courtroom , Through it all he remained a wonderful friend who I will miss. Condolences and warm regards to his family.
What a great man who is truly gone too soon. I’ve known “Putt” for many years and will miss him. Rest in Peace friend.
As a fellow attorney I always enjoyed being around Put. He was dependable for great stories, and I enjoyed his humor. He seemed to love practicing law, and I'm sure he helped many people through his long career. I will miss seeing him.
Norman was a good friend of ours besides a attorney. I remember when he brought his corvette by and wanted me to drive it. I was to scared to do it. He was a good person and would of done anything to help anyone.
Put was a good friend. In recent years, we enjoyed lunches together with other friends when I was in town. We also talked on the phone often between visits. I tried to keep up with him and what was going on. I’m sorry I won’t be at the funeral, and I send my best wishes that all goes well and family and other friends find comfort.
May God comfort all Put’s friends and family. We had some good times together. Our kids will always remember all the fishing trips and Christmas at your home.
He always had a good story whenever I saw him and I liked watching him in action at court. One of my favorite lawyers I covered in court sessions. Condolences to the family.
Put was a high school classmate and friend. As an adult he assisted my family, especially my mother, with legal matters for years. Condolences and prayers for comfort and peace for his family. May he rest in peace.

My Thoughts and prayers are with you all.so sorry for your loss
I will never forget the kindness he showed me throughout a difficult divorce - he was never to busy to ally my concerns if I called. He often called me one of his success stories because I struggled so on the front end, but with good friends and good counsel, I became stronger. He was not only my attorney but someone I considered a good friend - what a sense of humor he had. God speed my friend.
My deepest condolences to all that love and know Put. I've known Put for a long time and hated so much to hear of his passing.
My deepest condolences to the family. Putt was a wonderful attorney and friend for over 35 years. I remember him always trying to stump me on his trivia questions, but he never put forth one to best me. RIP Norm, you will be remembered.
