Edwin Joe Bratton, age 75, of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Wednesday, November 20th, 2024 at Ozark Health in Clinton, Arkansas. He was born in Marshall, Arkansas on October 25th, 1949 to Charles Edwin Bratton and Maurdiece Burkhart Bratton.
Joe was an icon and legend of the Leslie Community. He spent many years being the official score keeper for the Leslie Bulldogs. He ran the clock for every game. Joe was the Bulldogs number one fan. Throughout the years he has helped or assisted with many events in the Leslie area. He was always a prominent figure during the GED graduations held at the Heritage Center. Joe enjoyed working at the Searcy County Fair every year and spent countless hours volunteering at the Searcy County Library. He was a Christian and had a strong faith and belief in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Joe loved talking on the phone and his many friends will miss his daily calls. He was a great historian and could tell many stories of Leslie and its residents. Joe was small in stature but large in heart. Joe's death leaves a small hole in the community of Leslie and the surrounding areas that will never be filled.
Survivors include his aunts, Leyon Bratton of Marshall and Peggy Winders of Alma; sisters, Sandra L. Jarnagin of Houston, Texas and Kandy Landa of Houston, Texas and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends who will also mourn his passing.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Bratton and Maurdiece; his grandparents, Charley W. Bratton and Noma Ann Boyd Bratton and his uncle, Bobby Carrol Bratton.
Funeral services for Joe will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 22nd, 2024 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Don Campbell officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 till 2:00 PM November 22nd, 2024 preceding the service. Burial will be in Sulphur Springs Cemetery. Friends and family will serve as bearers.

I remember visiting “Little Joe” at his parents house near mine up off of Kimbrell Creek in Wiley’s Cove. I helped push his wheel chair back to his house many times during Homecoming when he would be out all day visiting and the battery would die. He was truly an icon in Leslie.

I will miss Joe's phone calls. He had a fantastic memory of past events even to the most minute detail. Rest in peace.
Joe was an icon of Leslie. He was a senior in high school the year I started teaching. He kept me informed of his sister, Sandra. She was my best friend in grade school before she moved. I will miss getting all the news from him. Rest in peace Joe. You’ll be missed.

A true fixture of Leslie, AR. You will be missed. I first met you when I was six years old. You were a very kind and generous individual who shared your Pom Pom candy with many fellow students on our school bus. Rest in peace my friend. The whole community of Leslie, Arkansas lost a true icon.

I remember Joe........ he is the middle name of Leslie and especially the ballgames. My husband preached one time at the little Baptist church ... I cant remember the name of it but Joe was there. I had to speak up for be blessed because we knew Joe. May we all remember him and comfort to the family and friends.
Joe visited with us many times in the shoe store. Was always a pleasure visiting with him. Rest in peace Joe. See you later.

Little Joe Bratton. Joe was a good man, always was. I carried him up the steps of the old school house many times as did others.
