Mary Seal

of Conway, AR

October 29, 1942 - September 29, 2024

Mary Frances (nee) Moore Seal, affectionately known as Cricket of Conway, Arkansas, made her entrance into this world on October 29, 1942 and exited to her heavenly home on September 29, 2024. She was the second daughter born to Meredith Edgar and Ora Modean (nee) Bohannon Moore.

Mary is survived by her sisters, Carolyn Grahnert, Bonnie Davis (Glen), Delores Campbell (Don) and Nancy Pendleton. She had four children, Deborah Coates (Kenny), Greg Herlacher (Debra) and Marty Herlacher (Gwen). Mary was the proud grandmother of ten grandchildren, eighteen great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Waiting for her on the far side banks of Jordan are her brother, J.B. Moore; her son, Meredith Paul Herlacher and both parents.

Mary attended elementary and junior high schools in Little Rock and finished at Joe T. Robinson High School in Roland, Arkansas.

Mary was a hard worker, starting her career at age sixteen waiting tables at Pop's Diner on 12th Street in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her next job took her to Jacksonville where she worked at the Ford dealership. While working there she special ordered herself a new pink Mustang. It was one of a kind and raised many eyebrows. She really thought she was hot stuff in that car. Although she had several jobs in her lifetime Mary mainly worked in commercial trucking with Larry, her partner of thirty-six years. Larry passed away on April 23, 2024. Mary could drive a semi and down shift gears as good as Larry. They were a team and traveled from coast to coast carrying food and other goods. She loved and missed the traveling but knew when it was time to stop. She then became the administrative part of the business.

Mary was a passionate Arkansas Razorback fan and loved attending games with Larry and calling those Hogs. She was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys too, always cheering them on and hoping for another Super Bowl opportunity. She loved scratch offs, buying lottery tickets and playing slot machines whenever she had a chance to go…always hoping for the big payoff.

Mary's other hobbies include playing Scrabble with her sister, Bonnie; she didn't like to lose which created some fierce battles between the two about whether a word was really a word. Mary liked flowers and had many plants in her house. She had a green thumb, especially in raising African violets. Mary could've been called the cat lady of the neighborhood. She fed eight cats on her deck every day and kept one inside. Her Moma Kitty will miss her.

Mary loved to cook. She was a people person and loved family gatherings, especially old-fashioned decoration days and the holidays. Wherever there was an outing Mary was usually there with her pot of chicken and dumplings.

Mary will be so missed by family and friends. We now have another empty chair at our family table.

A celebration of Mary's life will be held on Thursday October 3, 2024 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway, AR with visitation at 10:00 a.m., service at 10:30 a.m. and Interment at 2:00 p.m. at Marshall Memorial Gardens, Marshall, AR.

You will be missed Mary. The memory that I cherish is going on rides in your lavender semi truck. I always thought it was so pretty and fit you well. You had a calming voice and knew how to tell a good story. There's no more pain or tears, and I know you're finally at rest with my dad in a better place.
