of Conway, AR
June 2, 1932 - June 21, 2024
William Royce Cullum wrote in his Biography: ''I was born on a hot day, June 2, 1932 in Faulkner Co. Arkansas in the Fairview Community, that is five or six miles south-west of Quitman, Arkansas and about twelve miles Northwest of Greenbrier, Arkansas on what is now Mauldin Road. He shared his birthdate June 2nd with his dad, Wes Cullum.
As he often claimed: "I was born in a three-room log house with the popular dog trot design.''. He lived a long and comfortable life. Royce passed peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on June 21, 2024.
Royce was preceded in death by his lovely wife, Ann Cullum and Parents, Wes and Willie Cullum.
Royce is survived by daughter, Laura Karen Vandiver (Willy); sons, William David Cullum (Renee) and Jeffery Don Cullum (Verlinda); sister, Wilma Joyce Pinkston; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed reading, especially the Louis L'Amour series of westerns. He loved woodworking and displays numerous works around his home. Many family members proudly own some of his creations.
Royce was the family CEO, CFO after serving a lifetime of high-level positions with large corporations in central Arkansas such as Ward Industries, Virco and Tiffany. His position saw him traveling all over the world and meeting some very powerful and interesting people. His stories include the time he was privileged to fly from London to New York on the Concord which had just recently taken to the air. He often took his family on nice vacations, attractions and events.
Even though the art displayed in the home primarily focused on Ann, he enjoyed drawing, sketching and doodling. A close inspection of the home revealed some nice pieces of his diverse talent.
