Betty Louise Morris

of Mountain Home, AR

November 8, 1948 - May 14, 2024

Betty Louise Morris, a beloved native of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Hospice of the Ozarks. Born on November 8, 1948 in Mountain Home and raised in the close-knit community of Three Brothers, Arkansas, Betty lived a life marked by strength, devotion and an indomitable spirit.

Betty's resilience shone brightest in her battle against stage four metastatic breast cancer, a journey that began just six weeks prior to her passing. True to her stubborn nature, she faced this sudden challenge with courage, inspiring all who knew her.

Betty found immense joy in her plants and flowers. She was always growing something outdoors. Music, particularly the songs of Elvis Presley, brought great comfort and happiness to Betty. His music was a constant companion, filling her life with joy and providing solace during difficult times. Betty's greatest accomplishment was her unwavering dedication to her disabled son, Travis Morris, whom she cared for 28 years. Her care was evident in her devotion to Travis, making his well-being her life's mission. Betty's care and compassion for Travis were a testament to her remarkable character.

Though she often found it difficult to express her feelings, Betty worried deeply about those she loved. Her actions spoke louder than words, demonstrating her profound care and concern for her family and friends.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Racquel Johnson of Mountain Home and her granddaughter, Andrea Johnson of Mountain Home, who will carry forward her legacy of love and strength. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Cobb of Wideman, Arkansas; her sister, Carol Hisaw of Trumann, Arkansas; her brother, Dwain Duncan of Fayetteville, Arkansas and her brother, Bobby Duncan and his wife, Donna of Huntsville, Arkansas.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved son, Travis Morris; as well as her father, Mearl Duncan and her mother, Stella Duncan.

Betty Louise Morris will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her strength, love and the beauty she brought into the world will be remembered and cherished forever. May she rest in peace, knowing she made a profound impact on the lives of those she loved and cared for.

Donations can be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
