Billy Mack Smith

Billy Mack Smith, son of the late William Emmett and Maudie Mae Schaffer Smith, was born on September 2, 1934 in Dunklin County, Missouri and departed this life on May 13, 2024 at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House at St. Bernards in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 89 years.

Billy Mack was a member of Global Methodist Church in Bernie, Missouri. He was a 1952 graduate of Campbell High School. He had an outstanding sales career during his life. He was a Sales Manager for Busby Chevrolet, Sales Manager for Goodyear Farm Tire Center and Territorial Sales Manager for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company. He owned the Malden Dodge Dealership, Sikeston Tire and Alignment, Smith Real Estate and most notably, B.M.S. Auto, Inc. He was a member of Rotary Club, a board member of the Campbell Alumni Association and a member of several other organizations.

On September 19, 1954 he was united in marriage to Nelda Jean Lowe at South Canaan General Baptist Church in Gibson, Missouri. Mrs. Smith survives of the home.

Survivors include one daughter, Jo Beth Kennedy (George Baker) of Byhalia, Mississippi; one son, Gregory Mack Smith (Gayla) of Benton, Arkansas; one brother, Jerry Smith (Barbara) of Bowling Green, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Tabetha Norwood (Justin), Autumn Murray, Jessica Kennedy, Gregielle Wooldridge (Danny) and Gunnar Smith (Cami) and nine great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Billy Mack was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Brett Oldman.

Visitation will be held at Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Missouri on Friday, May 17, 2024 beginning at 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Randall Baker officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
