Barbara Jean Harvey Kimble

of Batesville, AR

August 20, 1944 - March 24, 2024

Barbara Jean Harvey Kimble, age 79, of Batesville, went home on March 24, 2024. She has been reunited with many loved ones and friends. She will be greatly missed and we long for the day when we will be reunited with her.

Born August 20, 1944, at Arkadelphia, Arkansas, she was the daughter of William Edgar Harvey and Edith Vivian Tobey Harvey. She graduated from Forrest City High School in 1962. She married Roy Neal Kimble on September 7, 1962, and they were married for 33 years. She and her husband were past managers of the Credit Bureau of Grenada, Mississippi for 16 years and past owners of the Credit Bureau of Independence County until they retired in 1993. She served as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Associated Credit Bureaus of Arkansas. She loved to watch game shows, Johnny Carson, and Razorbacks Basketball and Football. She taught piano and organ for many years. She had a great love of music and was an incredibly talented pianist. She has been the church pianist/organist at First Baptist Church in Grenada, Mississippi, First Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church in Batesville, has played in the local Jazz Band, and played on stage at the Grand Palace in Branson with Dino. A woman who lived life to the fullest and loved to laugh and dance, she is now able to do those things again, once taken away by her fight with Parkinson's disease.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Kimble Melton and son-in-law, Nickey Melton; grandson, Corey Blake Melton (Stephanie), and great-grandchildren Lindley Pittman and Allie Pittman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Neal Kimble; her husband, JC Wells, and her brother, Julian Tobey Harvey.

Pallbearers are Nickey Melton, Corey Melton, Robbie Cox, Lance Wehrung, Jackie Melton, and James Harvey.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home. Graveside services will begin at 11:30am immediately following the visitation at Oaklawn Cemetery with Doc Spurlin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made in her honor to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 610 E Main St, Batesville, AR 72501 or Friendship Outreach, P.O. Box 2394, Batesville, AR 72503.

Kimble family- Karen so sorry to hear about your mom! Barbara was such a beautiful person on the inside and outside! I remember how she lived to take pictures. When Gary and I would visit with her and Roy and she always had a camera in her hands! I know she will be greatly missed, but she is not suffering from Parkinson’s any more.. We miss all our loved ones who have entered their heavenly home but we r thankful for all those precious memory they have left with their family! Barbara’s family was very precious to her! She loved you all so much!

Karen, Nickey and Corey I have no words that are enough. Roy and Barbara were our friends and neighbors for several years.
Karen, I remember when your folks brought you home from Little Rock in their van when you had surgery on your spine. Your mom took Miss Kitty when we needed to find her a home.
Your mom will be happy to shed her ailing earthly body and see the love of her life once again in their Heavenly home.

I was 1962 Classmate. Barbara was a Hoot. Had many day trips with her in her sport car. She kept us laughing. We would go visit and she played the piano & Organ for us. A friendship that lasted a life time. She is loved and missed. God bless
