Alton was a dear friend from years in Hot Springs Concert Band. He was one of two people who knew how to actually help me with the set up of the band during my years as stage manager! He was always so quietly respectful and encouraging. We spent a lot of time talking about the Lord, the blessings, mercies, and grace He had bestowed on each of us. Those conversations are treasures to my heart.

He had the most beautiful sound on his trombone and spent many years in the Hot Springs Concert Band as a faithful and dedicated member. How blessed I was to know this gracious man. He will be greatly missed.

I am so heartbroken to hear of Alton’s passing. I work at the Senior Center and he was such a blessing to be around. He was always smiling and when he found out I was born in Tennessee he called me Mrs. Tennessee and I called him Mr. Texas. Heaven gained an angel for sure.

I was blessed to know this sweet man for only a short time it he had a way of touching your heart! We had many conservations about his family and the Bible amid our therapy exercises and “dancing” in the driveway. I always looked forward to seeing him sitting in the garage watching the going ons of the day, that drive down Congo Rd will not be the same. Praying for all you that are family and I’m sure you all know what a gem you had in him!

I am Alton’s lil’ Bro Willie. I know as much as he loved the State of Texas he loved Arkansas as well, and I find it interesting that he will be laid to rest on March 2nd “Texas Independence Day I’m positive he loved the great state of Arkansas as much. If you listen you can hear Gabriel blowing his horn. Well Done Sir Well Done.
