Patricia Ann Jacobus

of Little Rock, AR

February 23, 2024

Patricia Ann Cardwell Jacobus was born on January 8, 1945, and passed away peacefully on February 23, 2024. Pat is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Todd Jacobus of Little Rock. Pat is also survived by her son, Scott Stovall and his wife Tracey, and her daughter, Stacey Tatera and her husband Greg, her sister, Kay Jenkins, as well as her sister-in-law, Beckie Miles and her husband Ron. Pat is also survived by six grandchildren, Zachary Stovall (Bekah), Dan Stovall (Jessie), Lexi Shelton (Josh), Amanda Stovall, Natalie Hocklander (McClain), and Matthew Whittle; as well as 3 great granddaughters, Avery Stovall, Brooke Stovall, and Addisyn Shelton. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Nadine Cardwell, and her daughter, Shelly Whittle.

Pat was a homemaker while her children were young and then joined her family in the ownership and management of the Black Angus chain of restaurants throughout Central Arkansas. She later began working at the Arkansas State Police, from which she retired in 2005.

Pat loved making things around her beautiful. She took great pride in decorating and arranging the homes she shared with Todd to the greatest detail. She was also famous for her green thumb, a gift that has been unmistakably passed down to her son but not her daughter. She and Todd enjoyed countless hours nurturing their flower gardens and tomato plants, which provided a source for her beloved fried green tomatoes as well as a setting for lovely cocktail hours with Todd many happy evenings.

Pat's burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that you remember Mom by planting flowers instead of sending them. Mom especially loved daffodils, which are fittingly blooming at the time of her passing and will be a treasured annual reminder of her.

"...And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils." - Wordsworth

Scott and Stacey,
My heart hurt for you when I read that your mother passed away. What a lovely lady. She was beautifully dressed, hair and makeup perfect, always with a radiant smile and a chuckle in her voice. She was a hard worker that was evidenced by your house in Wakefield which could have been featured in Southern Living magazine.

The life of our family was enriched by the friendship with your family. Certainly the FUN was increased. Thank you for the sweet memories.

God bless you as you continue life without the physical presence of your mother. I hope you find many ways to keep her memory alive. What a blessing that you have each other. My deepest sympathy is with you.

I just learned of Pat's passing..we were friends what seems like forever..ever since childhood..her grandmother and mine were neighbors, our mothers were friends and Pan was my friend..she was one of those friends who you may not see for years but when you see each other..it's like no time has passed ..those friends are far and few between and they are a treasure..I'll miss her..as I know her family and Todd will. Always the same person and was a great friend.

Pat was a dear friend even though we had not seen each other in a long time. Todd, I know how deeply she loved you & the joy she took in every day you were together. My heart is hurting but I know Pat is busy planting flowers in Heaven. Prayers to the entire family; you have lost a treasure.

I know words can't express how sorry I am for your loss but please know I loved your mom and always loved seeing her posts of her yard. She always took pride in having a green thumb.

I remember sitting in your living room for hours playing the piano and she never complained or made me feel unwelcomed. She was a very special lady. My heart goes out to all your family.
