Lisa Baldus Foster

of Conway, AR

April 22, 1963 - February 14, 2024

Melisa ''Lisa'' Baldus Foster, of Conway, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2024, following a long illness. She was born on April 22, 1963, to James Louis Baldus and Martha Kay Baldus.

She is preceded in death by her father, James Louis Baldus; grandparents, Joseph Truail Starr, Anna Royce Duke Starr, Louis Alyos Baldus and Carolyn Matilda Urbani Baldus; and her fur-child Booger.

Lisa received her BSE in Art from UCA in 1988 and made an impact on most who crossed paths with her. She took countless students under her wing and touched or changed the lives of many as a teacher in both the Greenbrier and Mayflower communities. She was always one for the underdog and took in those that were outcasted or left behind. Lisa was always up for an adventure and found beauty everywhere she went.

She attended New Life Church in Conway and enjoyed supporting her community by participating in Art clubs, food drives, Toys for Tots and raising awareness for Breast Cancer through the Susan G. Komen walks. In her spare time, she loved playing bingo, Candy Crush, going to movies, anything to do with her ''g-babes'' and spending time with friends and family.

She is survived by her daughter, Kayli Nicole Meek; her mother, Martha Kay Baldus; sisters, Thresa Kay Shamburger, Lorri Anna Moix (Patrick); grandchildren, Braelynn Jane Battles, and Paxten David Meek; nieces and nephews, Jaycee Laine Walsh (Seth), Jenna Bailey Matthews (Joe), Lakyn Joseph Moix (Meagan Wade), and Tannar Holden Moix; great-nieces and nephews, Jayden Alexis Heflin, Ryker Starr Walsh, Jackson Dane Matthews, Greyson River Moix, and Gabriella Nicole Moix.

The family would like to give a special ''Thank you'' to Dr. Ryan Hall and the staff at Baptist Health Hospital in Little Rock that have taken such great care of her these past few months.

There will be a visitation on Monday, February 19, 2024, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the Chapel at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral services will be at 10:00am on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at First Baptist Church in Mayflower, Arkansas. Burial will be at Mayflower Cemetery.

LeeLee was my favorite grandma in the world. Seeing her pass makes me so sad, but at the same time so happy beacuse she can finnaly rest in peace. I know she enjoyed playing with me and Braelyn all the TIME! She loved to go to the movies and spend time with the family and my mother Kayli meek, the daughter of her, I knew one thing about her is that she adored her family and students she loved god being a Christian with the rest of the family. I love her as much as words can say. This is the End of her journey, she has loved, cared, liked, and disliked some stuff... R.I.P. leelee.

Mrs. Foster left a mark on everyone she ever met, a positive one too. I’m a high school student of hers who was very impacted by her love and encouragement to be myself. She was a courageous lady and we all loved her so much. May she be at peace and in a much better place. My thoughts are with her family and friends. Time is our friend and grief is just unexpressed love. <3

To Kay , Lori and the rest of the Baldus family, I will never forget how Lisa always had a smile on her face and how I loved watching her tap dance in all the recitals at Irby Studio. She was definitely a very special lady. I know she is tap dancing on the streets of gold and is whole again . Praying for you all during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to the whole family. I saw Lisa at CARTI in Conway just over a month ago and heard about her struggle/fight with Cancer. I was lucky enough to hug her and laugh with her one more time. Lisa was always a a wonderful friend and classmate to be around. She will be missed yet remembered and a part of me always. Bless the whole family in this time of sorrow.

What a blessing Lisa was in so many lives. She was one of my coolest teachers. She made me laugh, got me out of trouble at times and she taught me about art. She was the one who planted a seed in me for a love of painting through impressionistic art. She definitely made her impression on me. With deepest sympathy to the family, she will be missed, sincerely, Summer
