Lou had become a very special friend who I had the privilege of coming to know while we shared breakfast, shared phone calls to let each othe know we were praying for each others needs, and shared military experciences. One very special thing we shared was Lou was the Great Grand Father of my Grand Kids, I will forever be grateful for that memory.

I will miss talking every few days with Bro L.A. but I know he has seen JESUS face to face, the One he spent a majority of his time telling people about. LA was a great friend and Mentor to me, he taught me a lot about The Lord and introducing people to Him! I can only imagine how happy he was to see Sweet Cleo again! They were such a good example of putting each other first and Loving God the most. Until we meet again my dear friend!

I am so blessed to have known “Mr. Brother LA”, as my kids called him. I met LA 25 years ago and was his neighbor for almost 8 years. My time with LA was so valuable as he taught me about fishing, boating and, life but most importantly Jesus Christ. He was more than a neighbor to me, he was my mentor and he became like family. We fished together weekly and worked on all kinds of projects. He challenged me to be a better man, father, husband, and follower of Christ. He lived out his faith day after day and Spoke to the Lord as we would someone sitting next to us. He was a disciple of Jesus who loved the Lord fiercely. He was a true patriot who loved and served his country well. He was Cleo’s best friend and faithful husband for 50 + years and he loved his family. I never heard either of them say across word to each other. Brother LA was a man’s man, and a fisherman, not just of fish but for souls of men. He leaves a legacy of what it means to finish well. I am a better man and follower of Jesus because I knew and loved LA. I thank God his race is over and he now is receiving his rewards in Heaven and is in God’s presence with his “honey” aka Cleo. I will miss him but I will see him again.

Bro. LA was a great friend and encourager to Roger and me throughout the years we attended First Baptist Church with him and Mrs. Cleo. I appreciate the time they poured into my boys as their Sunday School teachers. They often told me how they prayed for Nathan and Nick. What a happy reunion when he saw his sweet wife! Cheryl, we are praying for you.

Because Bro LA and Cleo were faithful servants of Christ and faithfully served as bus drivers for First Baptist in Vilonia, our entire family came to know Christ as our Savior and Lord. We are not the only ones. Bro LA was one of the most faithful witnesses for Christ I've ever known. Every person he met, he introduced them to Christ. We loved them and their family. I wish I was there when he arrived at his heavenly home and the welcome home "thy good and faithful servant" that met him. We know he will be greatly missed by his family.
