Sherri Yvonne Beene

of Conway, AR

January 11, 1945 - February 11, 2024

Sherri Yvonne Beene left this earth rejoicing on February 11, 2024, following a long illness. She was born on January 11,1945 to Creed and Montene Skaggs in Searcy, Arkansas.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Louis Neal Beene Sr; a daughter, Susie Simpson (Danny) of Enola, Arkansas; a son, Neal Beene Jr. (Janet) of Conway, Arkansas; her 6 grandchildren, Elliott Simpson (Jordan), Adam Simpson (Alaina), Avery Simpson, Carlee Beene, Creed Beene and Coree Beene; 2 great-grandchildren, Koen and DesiRay Simpson and her beloved dog, Pearl.

Sherri loved taking trips and watching the Gaithers on Saturday with her husband, Neal. She loved going to church and hearing Brother Don preach as well as Brother Darrell sing. Sherri loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Meme loved to read mysteries, shop for anything and have bunking parties with her grandkids. She liked to have them all at once.

Waiting for her in Heaven were her mother, Montene Skaggs; her father, Creed Skaggs; her sister, Nina Camp and especially her sister, Vernell Wilcox and aunt, Bernice Hawkins.

The family would like to give a special ''Thank you'' to 2 lovely, wonderful ladies that took special care of Mom/Meme. We believe God sent us these special nurses, Lakedra Dixon and her mom, Linda Miller.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at 10:00am in the Chapel at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Don Chandler officiating. Burial will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Elliott Simpson, Adam Simpson, Creed Beene; great-nephew, Luke Rowlett and nephews, Matt Ethridge and Robert Beene.

The family takes great comfort in knowing that this service will not be goodbye, as their faith assures them that Sherri Yvonne Beene is home with her Lord. They look forward to seeing her in Glory.

I attended Mt. Vernon School with Sherri Yvonne Skaggs Beene. She was about 4 years younger than I. I was a substitute school bus driver when I was in the 11th grade. The regular bus driver was Orland Jones who was a senior. Yvonne rode my bus. Parents of today would be frightened to let their children ride with other school kids driving the bus, but we lived in a much different world then and I never knew of any of the student drivers having problems. Yvolln was always a beautiful girl and aged with a growing beauty. Our family rented land from her father behind their home where we grew cotton with horses and mujles. Things have changed in this world.. May the family be able to have a lifetime of good memories of this wonderful lady. May the Great GOD in Heaven watch over her in her transition and her family left behind. RLS

I'm sorry to hear of Yvonne's passing. Yvonne and my sister Gayla were very good friends growing up. She sung at Gayla and Farrell's wedding. She was distant kin, her mom Montene and my daddy were first cousins. Prayers for her family during this time.
