Jerald D. Haun

of Jonesboro, AR

April 26, 1936 - February 9, 2024

Jearld D. Haun, 87, of Jonesboro passed away Friday, February 9, 2024. He was born on April 26, 1936 to Roy D. and Helen Faye Haun. Jerald was an honor graduate and valedictorian of Valley View High School in 1954. He obtained a master's degree from Arkansas State University and held jobs in accounting to positions at Colson Corp, Jimco Lamps and Singer Co from 1959 1976. At that time, he began the position of finance director for the City of Blytheville, retiring in 2001.

Jerald was a longtime member of Mt Pisgah Baptist Church and actively served as church secretary. He enjoyed model railroading and traveling long distances to see and explore unique working trains. He was an avid sports fan of ASU and many other schools. Jerald was a member of the Army National Guard, serving from 1954-1963, holding the rank of Staff Sergeant at the end of his tenure.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bobby Haun, Sr.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Claude Haun; sisters, Nina (Donald) Ford, Nanette (Ronnie) Layne and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Ave, Jonesboro.

A visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of service.

Memorials may be made to Arkansas Baptist Children's Home in Monticello or to Gideon's International.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home.

I remember Gerald where did the time go
I remember him as a very nice person.
Rip and I was in the same grade graduated the same year he also was a very nice person.
