Rita Eason Scott

May 4, 1949 - February 1, 2024

RITA EASON SCOTT

Rita Carolyn Eason Scott, age 74, of West Memphis, Arkansas passed away at her home surrounded by family on February 1, 2024.

Rita was born May 4, 1949 in Moro, Arkansas to Fremont D. Eason and Gladys Delk Eason. Her early years were spent in Madera, California. The family later returned to Moro. She attended Brinkley High School and graduated from TA Futrell in Marianna, Arkansas.

She is survived by her sons, Jason Riggins and Robert Warren Scott II and wife, Mallory; daughter, Jennifer Scott; grandchildren, Cassidy Riggins, Blake Riggins, Mayla Scott and Robert Warren Scott III; her sister, Stephanie Eason Henson. She leaves behind many other family members and friends whom she loved dearly and whose lives she touched. These speak to the kindness and generosity of her spirit and the blessings she received during her life. She will be greatly missed.

She enjoyed playing golf and avidly tending her plants and flowers, both indoor and out. She once said, ''I'm happiest working in a pile of dirt!''. She was a gifted artist, designer and decorator. She had a love of music that she infused into all of her children. She created a home of style and elegance, with an atmosphere of fun and warmth. But her greatest joy was time spent with her children and grandchildren and her most treasured role was being a grandmother to those who lovingly called her ''Ri Ri''.

She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she worked in the nursery for years and helped with Vacation Bible School.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fremont; mother, Gladys; her step-father, James Hamilton; brother, Gary Hamilton and a host of loving aunts and uncles, too numerous to name.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 5th, 6:00-8:00 at Roller-Citizen in West Memphis, Arkansas.
Additional visitation at the Gospel Lighthouse Church in Moro at 12:00 on Tuesday, February 6th with the Funeral service following at 1:00. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lee County. Roller-Citizen Funeral Home in West Memphis is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials/donations can be made to the Gospel Lighthouse Church, Moro AR. P.O. Box 207, Moro AR 72368.
