Erwin Edward Harper, born to Walter and Elizabeth Harper, Sr. on September 22, 1956, in Chicago, Illinois.

Erwin attended Saint Columbanus Grammar school and Quigley South Seminary school on the southside of Chicago.

He later moved to Conway Arkansas where he presided with his wife Sandra and was a member of Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.

Erwin was an avid sports enthusiast and collector of music. He also loved singing, reading, watching his favorite shows, and engaging in enjoyable conversation. He had a smile that would brighten your day. His faith and deepest beliefs were rooted in the love for his God, family, and friends.

He was preceded by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth.

Surviving is his wife, Sandra; his son, Jairus (Marie); two grandsons, Jude/Erwin Jr.; his siblings, Walter, Rudolph, Walnetta (James), LaGone, Michael (Lisa), Gail, Shelita (Marvin), Debonna, Robert, Erisha, Eddie, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Thank you, Sandra, for loving my brother.
Thank you, Jairus, for continuing Erwin’s legacy - (Jude/Erwin Jr).
Thank you, Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church family, for allowing Erwin to make a joyful noise.
Psalm 121 says, “I lift my eyes to the hills; where will my help come My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” In times of trial and challenge – in times of grief and loss – we are called to lift our eyes to God – for He is our help, hope, and strength.
God Bless and keep you, my Arkansas and Wisconsin family.

My brother Erwin fought a struggle in search of Love and Peace. These feelings were displayed by Our parents Walter & Elizabeth Harper constantly who raised us to use and understand the environment around us to our full potential. In spite of the immense challenges of seeking success in a time destined to stop us they showed us that working as a family provided strength to overcome the many obstacles found once leaving the comfort of 6809.
Erwin’s attempts to handle obstacles were at times self destructive but effective enough to modify the situation and allow him to work at it another way and he won.
I believe He was winning in Conway, Arkansas. He did as Our Dad did, enjoy His home And Love his Son from afar and The close proximity of His Wife. I am glad that he won’t have to physically suffer any longer. Rest in Peace My Brother.

I will miss you more than you’ll ever know.
You were the big brother I always wanted and I was the better for having you in my life.
We all were.
I tried to steal your style , grace and humor. It was foolish of me.
For you could not be duplicated only appreciated.
So until the next we meet again.
Love to sweet Erv. The founder of swag.
