Margaret Ann Curtis

of Marion, AR

January 1, 1928 - January 15, 2024

Margaret 'Peggie' Curtis, also know as 'Mimi' by many of her adopted children and grandchildren, died Monday, January 15, 2024. She lived most of her young life in Hammond and Gary, Indiana.

She married at 18 to Charles 'Dick' Curtis upon his return from WWII. Later, after moving to Hot Springs, Arkansas, where along with her parents, became Christians. She happily served God as a minister's wife and Bible School teacher, entertaining people in her home during the 1960's and 1970's.

Following the death of her husband, she then became a rural mail carrier for the USPS. Upon her retirement in 1996 she moved to Crittenden County becoming an active member of the community and Missouri Street Church of Christ, teaching children's Bible classes. She taught women's classes during the Crown Point Missions until she was 87 years old. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a Pink Lady for Crittenden Memorial Hospital until the closing of the hospital.

She is survived by two children, Richard Curtis of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Kimberly Shirley (Rick) of Marion, Arkansas; her sister, Sue Braughton of Hot Springs; a niece, Allison Ramsey; a nephew, Kevin Braughton; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Dear Kim, I have been ill and just saw this. I am so very sorry. Margaret was such a sweet lady and I'm sure will be missed by many. May God bless and comfort you during this time of loss and grief.

I a so terribly sorry to hear of Peggie's death. I have such fond memories of our trips to Crownpoint in the past. My heartfelt sympathy to your entire family as you go through this difficult time. Losing ones mom that you have been with every day makes it really so hard as I understand totally having been there. I pray that God will surround each of you in a very special way.
