Alta Loretta Barefoot

of Branson, MO

July 28, 1928 - January 3, 2024

Alta ''Loretta'' Barefoot, age 95, of Branson, Missouri went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 3rd, 2024, in Harrison. She was born July 28th, 1928, in Pulaski County, Arkansas to Emmit Quinton Archer and Dorothy JoEllen (Price) Archer. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mark Ferrel Barefoot and one brother, Darell Archer.

Loretta was known as the matriarch of her family. She enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking and gardening. She worked at Levi Strauss and Emerson Electric for many years. She was a faithful attendant at her local Methodist Church. You could often find Loretta serving as a caregiver to those she loved. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Salas of Branson, Missouri and Pam Barefoot of Diamond City; one son, Mark and his wife, Artie Barefoot of Cache, Oklahoma; one sister, Wana Charlene Archer of Alexandria, Virginia; one son-in-law, Troy Collins of Diamond City; five grandchildren, Shawn Barefoot, Mark Neal Barefoot, Tad Odom, Lori Williams and Braden Collins; thirteen great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews and a host of other family and friends.


Graveside service was Monday, January 8, 2024, at York Cemetery in Bergman with Bro. Ohmer Dyal officiating.

Pallbearers were Natalie ''Jectt'' Odom, Troy Collins, Braden Collins, Tad Odom, Matt Williams and Trenton Williams.
