John Nathan Dean

of Marion, AR

February 18, 1940 - January 3, 2024

John Nathan Dean passed away on January 3, 2024 in West Memphis, Arkansas. He was 83 years old.
He was born and raised in Tyronza, Arkansas on a small farm, the youngest of eight children, to parents John Robert Reeder ''Bob'' and Nora Elizabeth O'Dell Dean on February 18, 1940.
His career included working for the railroad, where he retired in February of 2000 after 42 years of service. He was a loving and dedicated father, grandfather and great-grandfather. John loved and enjoyed his horses and riding with his two daughters. He was passionate about teaching many of his younger family members how to drive, shoot guns and appreciate nature.
John was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Melba Hall, Reeder Dean, Dick Dean, Vernon Dean and Earlene Robbins.
Surviving John is his two daughters, Mandy Archer (Tom) of Marion, Arkansas and Stacey Coalter (John Mike) of Nesbit, Mississippi; three grandchildren, Taylor Bagwell (Jonathan), Zac Adams and Nic Adams; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Creed, Elliot Bagwell, Blair Bagwell and Jack Bagwell and two sisters, Ollie Vee Bolden of Conway, Arkansas and Jeanie Tacker of Springhill, Arkansas.
John was loved deeply by his family and friends and will be forever missed by them all.
Services will be held on January 11, 2024 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 201 N. Pine St., West Memphis, Arkansas. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon followed by a ''Celebration of Life'' service at 1:00 pm. The burial will take place at Tyronza Cemetery in Tyronza, Arkansas.

What a wonderful Man. I had the pleasure of taking care of Mr. Dean such a sweet nice man. Mr.Dean you will truly be missed your daughter Mandy did an amazing job she was always making sure you had everything you needed I no your proud of her keep watching over her… Now it’s time for you to get your rest no more pain no more suffering your in a better place R.I.P

So sorry to hear about Mr John. I’ve known this man all my life and he was always very good to me. My daddy really liked and talked very well of Mr John. They were good friends. Praying for the family.
