Johnny Elroy Wells, born February 21, 1950 in Memphis, TN, passed away on December 27, 2023 in Byhalia, Mississippi. He was 73 years old.

Johnny was an avid baseball fan. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed other sports. He attended Apostolic Church of Jesus in Byhalia, Mississippi and took part in the jail ministry as well.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Johnny Henry Wells and Bessie Christine Baldwin Wells; his son, Jeffery Elroy Wells; two sisters, Evelyn Nichols and Doris Manley and 1 brother, Earnest Wells.

Johnny Wells is survived by his wife of 44 years, Annette; 2 sons, Jason E. Wells (Megan) of Chaffee, Missouri and Matthew N. Wells (Alana) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; 1 daughter, Larura Whitfield (Joe) of Senatobia, Mississippi; 9 grandchildren, Zack, Bryant, Wyatt, Samuel, Olivia, Gracie, Layla, Everly and Noah; 1 great grandchild, Wells Whitfield; 1 brother, Harold Wells of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and 3 sisters, Connie Birch of Iuka, Mississippi, Carolyn Timbs of Atoka, Tennessee and Irma Poole of West Memphis, Arkansas.

Services for Mr. Wells will take place on January 4, 2024 at Byhalia Cemetery in Byhalia, Mississippi. The graveside service will begin at 11AM.
