Clyde "Tommy" Thomas May, Jr.

of Maumelle, AR

March 12, 1951 - December 21, 2023

Clyde (Tommy) Thomas May, Jr. of Maumelle passed away on December 21, 2023. Our dear Tommy was born with a smile on March 12, 1951 to Clyde Sr. and Barnie Lou May (Adams). He spent his childhood in Memphis, Tennessee with his sisters, Luanne Cox and Mary Jane May-Dacus, fostering a love of sport and community. His passion for athletics brought him to Arkansas to play football at Henderson State University and this passion thrived throughout his life with his love of golf and the Razorbacks. His love of community shone at every stage of his life: as an Eagle Scout, in his dedication to his many lifelong friends and in his desire to improve the world around him, fostering the earth God gave him.

He loved to travel but was never happier than when he was at home with his beloved wife of 40 years, Rose; his daughters, Traci Pinner, Shelly Armstrong and Sara Elder and his grandchildren, Kaylee Cannon, Drew Pinner, Jillian Armstrong, Ryan Armstrong and Bryley Elder and great grandson, Wade Cannon. But it was his love and devotion to God that drove Tommy through trial and tribulation, victory and defeat. He was an active and loved member of New Life Church, Greater Little Rock campus. In all things, it was love that drove Tommy-love for God, for his family, for his friends and neighbors. With his infectious smile, he knew no stranger, he loved fiercely and today he is with his mother, father and a host of angels in Heaven.

Join us in celebrating the life of this generous, cheerful and wonderful man on Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Visitation will be held at 1pm and funeral services at 2pm at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home on 10900 Interstate 30 in Little Rock. He will be laid to rest at Riverwood Memorial Gardens in Maumelle following his service.

I work with Ashleigh, his niece who was more like a second daughter. I heard so many fun and loving stories about him. I felt like I knew him. So thankful he is with Jesus and fully healed. God bless you all. You will remain in my prayers.

Love to all of you!! I know how much he was absolutely adored by Sara and B. Tommy has been there for them in every important moment.

They talked about Tommy all the time & while it’s nice to know he is no longer in pain… I know this is very hard for you guys and I wish I could be there to give you all big hugs!!!

I know he is watching over all 3 of you now and he couldn’t be more proud of the family that stood by his side in fun times, in happy times, in bad times and sick times… he had a great group by his side.

He is a wonderful man that will be missed terribly by many and will be carried in their hearts and memories forever. May he rest in love

With open arms.. love to all of you!!

Tommy was my best friend for 65 years. I don't have the words to adequately express how much I will miss him. We spoke regularly, exchanged fond memories of our past as old men tend to do. Tommy was my prayer partner and we exchanged prayer requests for our families and ourselves throughout the years.
I am confident that I will see Tommy again. I have been proud to call him a brother in Christ for over 50 years.

Our hearts hurt for all of Tommy’s family as you grieve his absence. He was definitely “one of a kind” and blessed my family and I so many times, especially when Ezekiel died. He will be greatly missed. I’m so thankful for his faith in Christ and pray that the God of grace and mercy will comfort you and sustain you as you grieve with hope in His promise of eternal life! I am blessed to have shared life with this family. Our prayers are prayers of thanks for the faithfulness of God from the day Tommy was conceived until the day called him home (Psalm 139:16). May the God of all comfort sustain you, dear family, until we see Tommy again.

Dearest family and friends of Tommy,
I am so sorry for your loss. Tommy was a great man with a kind heart who had a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered by those who ever had the joy of spending any time in his presence. I pray you are brought peace and healing in spite of his absence. There is no doubt that even though he no longer with us physically, his spirit will live on through his memory, the love he gave, and the lessons he taught us. May he rest in love.
