Fredman Ritchie

of Clarksville, AR

October 6, 1932 - December 12, 2023

Fredman "Fred" Ritchie went to an eternal resting place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his home in Clarksville. He was 91 years old. Fred was born in Madison County in a small town called Spoke Plant on October 6, 1932 to Toy and Effie (Ward) Ritchie. Fred was born into a large family of twelve siblings.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Toy and Effie Ritchie; his sisters, Edith Sullivan and Laverne Elsberry and his brothers, Ray Richie, Theodore (Ted) Ritchie, Charles Ritchie, Argus Ritchie, Kenneth Ritchie and Kellawain (Kelly) Ritchie. He was survived by his sisters, Evallyn (Cayetano) Castillo and Thelma (Dane) Arbaugh and his brother, Lonnie (Rene) Ritchie.

Fred was a great joker, always making funny videos and pulling jokes on everyone. He had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Fred worked as an auto mechanic and later as a police officer for the City of Salinas, California, which he was very proud of. Fred always put his family first. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and anytime he could talk his sister, Evallyn, into going gambling. His nieces and nephews still today talk about the times when they were younger and Uncle Fred would hide, then jump out and give them a good scare. It was a good time for all when Fred was visiting. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

A graveside inurnment will be 1 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Mt. Airy Cemetery. Rev. Audrey Poteet will officiate.

Uncle Fred. You will be missed very much. We are grateful for all the memories you have given us. There was never a dull moment in your presence. You put more laughter and smiles on faces, with your jokes, stories alone with hiding and waiting to scare me jumping out. You got me every time, great memories. We will miss you. Rhonda & Russ
