Messiah Xavier Jenious

of Memphis, TN

August 22, 2023 - December 8, 2023

Messiah Xavier Jenious (MJ), was born on August 22, 2023 at 11:00pm to loving parents, MaKayla and Chris Jenious. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 8, 2023.

He was an extremely happy baby who smiled and giggled constantly. To be in his presence was to know joy in its purest form. The doctors were concerned that he wasn't gaining weight during his first few weeks, but by the time he was two months old, he had earned the monikers ''Chunky Baby'', ''Fat-Fat'', and ''Big Shoulders Jr.'', could polish off a 5 oz. bottle with casual ease, and sleep through half the feeding!

Though he was only here for a short time he made a tremendous impact on everyone who knew him. He left us with three lessons:

''Life is short, don't play.'' MJ was trying to hold his bottle at two weeks old, trying to stand at two months, and insisted on pulling himself up to sit up at three months. He did NOT waste time.

''Demand what you want!'' He knew exactly how he wanted to be held and who he wanted to hold him, which was usually his daddy. He would make that perfectly loud and clear, with an emphasis on loud!

''STAND UP!'' He was always trying to stand and had a look of victory and accomplishment when he did. He didn't let any obstacle keep him from standing, not even his lack of fine motor control and erratic sense of balance.

MJ is survived by his maternal grandparents Chris and Jennifer Wahl from West Memphis, his paternal grandparents Aundrei and Yvonne Jenious from Memphis Tennessee, his big brother, Taylon Lane Wahl, his godmother, Vanna Poston, his aunts Kera and Monica Jenious, his uncles, Jorel Jenious, and the Wahl boys, and a host of other relatives. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Natasha Wahl, his great aunt, Daphne Muhammed Ali, his ancestral doppelgänger and Great-great grandmother Evie Dukes, and many other deceased loved ones who will help him watch over us.

Messiah Xavier Jenious will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
