James Clyde Futrell II, 85, of Mountain View, Arkansas passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. James was born on January 13, 1938 in Smithfield, North Carolina to the late Clyde L. and Madlin (Matthews) Futrell. James was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served in a band playing the clarinet. James was an engineering technician following the Air Force and retired after 32 years of dedicated service; he developed several instruments in the water resources division and obtained two patents for his instruments. After retirement James went back to school and earned a degree in music and was the minister of music to several churches. James and his wife Sue attended First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. James will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.

James is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue E. (Brewer) Futrell of Mountain View, Arkansas; one daughter, Wendy and husband Aaron of Winterville, NC; one son, Johnny Pearrow and wife Cindy of Lumberston, MS.; grandchildren, Ashley Fore, Melissa Saunders and fiancé Brandon, Lindsey Flippo and husband Cory, Megan Bowman and husband Zac, and Landon Pearrow; great-grandchildren, Carter Bowman, Kaley Hackworth, Kelsey Hackworth, Aylla Flippo, and one on the way; as well as one great-great grandchildren on the way; along with many extended family and friends.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde L. and Madlin (Matthews) Futrell.

A memorial service celebrating James life will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, 10:00AM at First Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas with Brother Jason Ingram officiating.

Roller Crouch Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
