August 4, 1936 - November 9, 2023

Betty Jo Shoptaw passed from this earth into the arms of her husband and family in heaven on November 9, 2023. She was born August 4, 1936 to Henry Dow and Mary Ann Hyde. Betty was married for 44 years to Buford Shoptaw. She was a full-time homemaker and an occasional beautician. She enjoyed reading, gardening, talk radio and CSPAN news.

In addition to her husband and parents; her sisters and brothers will be waiting to greet her, Thelma Whitehead, Gerldeen Milhorn, Willie Hyde, Jewel Dean Rae, Bertha Langley, Lyndell Panelo, Barbara Hyde, Doneal "Pete" Hyde and Vickey Taylor.

Betty is survived by her sister, Shirley (Jerry) Ross; her children, Michael (Kathy) Shoptaw and Janice (Donny) Russell; grandchildren, Nathan Shoptaw, David Shoptaw, Celeste Alvarado, Kevin (Megan) Thompson; great grandchild, Norah Alvarado anfd niece and nephew, Kim (Jeff) Krum and Rusty Ross.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 2-4 pm, Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Roller Drummond Funeral Home in Little Rock and a graveside service will follow 11 am, Monday, November 13, 2023, at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville, Arkansas.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Foxridge Luxury Assisted Living for their caring and compassionate service to Betty.
