Chuck Sweet, 55, of Batesville passed away Friday, October 6, 2023.
He was born March 24, 1968 in Batesville to Robert "Bob" Sweet and Elaine (Case) Sweet.
Chuck was of the Baptist faith and was the owner and president of Sweet's Contracting and a member of Batesville Bassmasters. He loved to go fishing, hunting, boating and playing with his dog, Piper. He enjoyed doing anything outdoors with his family. Chuck was loving, kind, goofy, selfless and humble.
Survivors include his wife, whom he married May 21, 2010, Christina (Bishop) Sweet of the home; his parents; one son, Brentley Gipson of Batesville; three daughters, Reagan Sweet of Batesville, Riley Sweet of Batesvill and Makenzie Gipson of Batesville; one sister, Robin Courtney (David) of Batesville; one grandson, Kip Epperson; sister-in-law, Ginger Horton (Wayne); niece, Casen McCormick (Paden) and nephews, Corbett Courtney (Peyton) and Cory and Owen Horton.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clarence and Nellie Mae Sweet, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Elaine Case.
Pallbearers are David Carter, Corbett Courtney, Brentley Gipson, Clark Nail, Randy Everett and Troy Sharp. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Musgrave, Bill Beller, Tony Thrower, Donald Boles, Kyler Epperson, Sam Stalker and John Todd Stalker.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home with Stacy Reed and Tracy McMahan officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm until 2:00pm just prior to the service.

I started 3rd grade at Central Elementary in Batesville in 1976 . Chuck was one of the first people that I met . He was always laughing and joking and I considered him my friend and still do even though I haven't been around him much though the years. I talked to him in 2016 at the high school reunion and he was still the same Chuck Sweet I knew as a kid. Genuine, kind human being. Praying for the family. May God bless you all. Amen

It is with a heavy heart that we have to say ‘see you later’ to such an amazing friend! Chuck was a great guy and was always the jokester! Always loved to see him pulling up the drive to just stop in and say hello! We had many hilarious times out on the lake, you will never be forgotten but you will be eternally missed!
I have learned a few things about grief. It is not a temporary feeling but rather an eternal one with many changing seasons. Grief hurts in places that are hard to point to because the pain in your heart overflows into every other crevice that exists inside of your body. Sometimes grief longs to be held and pushes you away at the same time. It runs for both freedom and shelter. It wants to heal but without letting go. Grief lands upon your chest whenever and however and wherever it chooses. It is not bound by space or time or distance and I can guarantee you that it will always find a way to come to the surface. Grief lays its weary head down and waits for rain. For sun. For wild winds. For peace-oh precious, precious peace. Grief reminds us that death is not a goodbye. But the longest and hardest “see you later”
