January 12, 1937 - September 15, 2023

Margaret B. Smith, 86, passed peacefully in her sleep on September 15, 2023 in Lafayette, LA.

Margaret was a resident of Benton for over 40 years where she raised her family, enjoyed a good life and had fond memories of her friends. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was a long-time member of The Independent Order of the Odd Fellows and Rebekah's, The Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW, as well as a long-time member of First Lutheran Church of Benton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George D. and Bertha A. Lewis, as well as her loving husband, Raymond J. Smith and her sister, Carol A. Williams. Margaret is survived by her son, Dr. George R. Smith (Jennifer L.) of Lafayette LA; a daughter, Carolann B. Urban (Charles A.); as well as two grandchildren, Candra Rae and Christopher Urban of Ewa Beach, HI.

Margaret's family would like to thank Janet Guidry who was her caregiver for the past seven years. Janet provided the best care possible and extended Margaret's life while making her final years comfortable and peaceful during her battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

A visitation will be on September 20, 2023 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd. Benton, AR. Margaret will be interred next to her beloved husband, Raymond, following a graveside service at 1:00pm September 21, 2023 at Pinecrest Memorial Park, N. Highway 5, Alexander, AR.
