Betty Jean (Bennett) Trammell, 91, of Jonesboro passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at the Craighead County Nursing Center. She was born November 6, 1931 in Jonesboro to Homer and Clara (Tannehill) Bennett. Betty graduated from Valley View School where she played basketball. She worked at Frolic Footwear for 40 years, retiring in 1989. Betty enjoyed many years of traveling the U.S. with her girlfriends after retirement. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Betty loved the Lord, loved people and she loved having fun. She also enjoyed bowling, weekends at Lake Norfork, boating, water skiing and picnicking and spending time with her family.

Betty was preceded in death by parents; husband of 70 years, Bill Trammell; sisters, Grace Wiles and Geraldean Brewer and brothers, Tommy Bennett, Lafayette Bennett, Cecil Bennett and Curtis Bennett.

Survivors include her son, Jimmy Don Trammell and wife, Janis; grandchildren, Dondra Trammell Fite and husband, Eric, Justin Trammell and wife, Jennifer and great grandchildren, Madelynn Fite (Joel) Hascher, Ellington and Conlee Fite and Harper and Harrison Trammell.

A Celebration of Life for Betty and Bill (who passed away in 2020 during COVID) will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:30 pm at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home with Don Vuncannon officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family is grateful to the staff of Craighead County Nursing Center and St. Bernards hospice for their loving care of Betty.
