Bettye Ruth deNeui passed away from this life on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at the age of 93, in Pope County, Arkansas.
She was born on October 19, 1929 in Maysville, Oklahoma. She was a decades long resident of the Russellville/Dover area.
Bettye was a well-known, avid and prolific quilter who had won blue ribbons at the Pope County Fair. She was loved by all who knew her and had a kind and generous spirit.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John H. deNeui of the home; Diana Fine, daughter and her husband, Ronald of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; David M. Oliver, son and his wife, Kristin of Fort Myers, Florida; five grandchildren, Mark Andrew Fine, MD and wife, Tabitha of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Emily Hayasaki and husband, Casey of Starbase, Texas, Jamie Herman and husband, Ben of Port Matilda, Pennsylvania, Jessica Oliver and husband, Ryan of Fort Myers, Florida and Laila Fawver and husband, Chris of Fort Myers, Florida.
She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Natalie, Fox, Ruby Ruth, Braylen, Eden, Oliver and Ruby; a sister, Bessie Banks and husband, Floyd of Fort Worth, Texas and a brother, Calvin Smith of Rome, Georgia; multiple nieces and nephews, Karen, Leeah, Lauren, Terrie, Ricky and Mark, as well as four great-great nephews.
The family would also like to recognize and thank Velta Pruitt, Bettye's caregiver and beloved neighbor for 30 years, who provided love and care through difficult times.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
