Eulois ''Lois'' Bartlett, 94, of Conway, AR, went to be with the Lord, July 16, 2023. She was born July 25, 1928, in Poughkeepsie, Arkansas to Lonzo Newton and Maude Norris. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers Dexter, Everett, and Newton Norris and two sisters Nona Miller and Eunice Justus. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 26 years James L. Bartlett and son Jon N. Glenn.

Lois graduated valedictorian from Poughkeepsie, AR in 1946. Her professional degrees included: B.S.E from Arkansas A&M College, Monticello; M.S.E from State College of Arkansas, later University of Central Arkansas; and post graduate work at University of Arkansas Fayetteville.

During Her 40-year career in education she served in a variety of professional endeavors across Arkansas; public school teaching, speech therapist, University instructor, and from 1975 until her retirement in 1993 Director of Special Education in Searcy Arkansas. She was active at the State level in early development of special education legislation. Throughout her career she took an active role in professional organizations, serving as President of the Arkansas Association of Special Education Administrators, receiving recognition as Special Education Administrator of the Year in 1991. In 2017 she received recognition by the Arkansas Legislature for her contributions to education and the education of students with disabilities.

Her favored pastimes included, needle work, especially crocheting, flower and vegetable gardening, cooking, weekend day trips in Arkansas with her husband and after retiring, caring for her beloved dog Penny. She loved watching especially women's basketball as well as men's basketball and all sports. For many years she was an avid reader of a variety of genres including her Bible.


Lois is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lockett (Ed) and Beth Glenn of Conway; son Randall Glenn (Sherry) of Conway; grandsons Les Eaves (Denise) and Cameron Glenn; granddaughters Laura Taylor (Scott) and Rachel Glenn (Alex). She is also survived by 5 great-granddaughters, Heather, Aly, Taylor, Sydney, Savannah, and 7 great-great-grandchildren, Maddox, ''Big'' Grayson, Langley, Makenzie, Emerson Grayson, Ramsey.

Lois is also survived by three stepdaughters; Sharon Bartlett of North Little Rock, Leigh Ann Keller (Troy) of Tulsa, Ok and Lisa Davis (Kevin) of Sheridan; two step-granddaughters Amanda Goza and Sarah Smith; step-grandson Skylar Bartlett, and step-great-grandson, James.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to the nurses, technicians, and staff of Conway Regional 3 South, all of her Physicians, and Hospice Home Care.
Special thanks to her care giving family at Stonebridge Assisted Living.

Pallbearers: Les Eaves (grandson), Cameron Glenn (grandson), Maddox Menhinick (great-grandson), Scott Taylor, John Havranek, Woody Smith.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023, at 10:00am in the Chapel at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will be one hour prior at 9:00am. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers: Scott Taylor, Les Eaves, Cameron Glenn, Maddox Menhinick, John Havranek, Woody Smith.

So sorry to learn of Ms Lois’ passing.
We built quite a great friendship in the last 15 years. She always had a big smile and was so kind. I know she will be missed greatly by her family and friends. My prayers are with you all.

Lois was a dedicated special education leader who always fought for the rights of students. Not only did her knowledge and leadership assist many in the field of education, her humor/wit was enjoyed in all situations.

I'm sorry to hear about Miss Bartlett's passing. I use to landscape her shrubs and beds once a year before I retired and I always would looked forward to talking to her. She was so kind and she loved her yard. There will be a special spot for her in heaven.
