Joy Chalk, 83, of Southaven, MS, passed away July 6, 2023. She was born May 1, 1940 to Mr. and Mrs. George Cook of Turrell, AR.
Joy is survived by her son Keith and her daughter Kim (Jr); Seven grandchildren, Keith Jr (Lauren), Tim (Merideth), Cody (Savanna), Brandon (Hannah), Cooper, Griffin, and Graham; four great-grandchildren; Shepherd, Ruby June, Wyatt, and Finley.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Richard, son Chuck, two brothers George and Jerry Cook, and a sister Betty Cook Lane.
Visitation will be held at her home church where was a charter member, Clearview Baptist Church, 3345 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS 38672, on July 13th 2023, at noon.
Service will begin at 1:00 pm, following visitation.
Interment will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home, 290 Goodman Rd E, Southaven, MS 38671

Joy, you were so special to me and Milton as was Richard. I know your family will miss you dearly. I still remember Richard taking a big apple off the tree just the one I was watching to see how big it would get. I didn’t get mad. I laughed. But what I most remember when I had my cancer surgery, y’all cook several meals for us. We loved y’all and will see you in the hereafter.
