Charles Roger Baker Jr.

of Marshall, AR

December 5, 1980 - June 24, 2023

Charles Roger Baker Jr., age 42, of Marshall, Arkansas passed from this earthly life on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at Lake Dardanelle in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on December 5th, 1980 to Charles Roger Baker Sr. and Delia Lloyd Baker.

Charles was a Christian and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He considered his church family true "family" and loved them very much. He was a welder by trade. He also was an excellent leathersmith and his work can be seen in many homes in the county. Charles was a great chef and loved to cook for his church family. He was very proud of his Cajun heritage and liked cooking crawfish. He enjoyed fishing of any kind, whether craw fishing, jugging or just being on the water. To some he was considered a rebel with a wild side but to those closest to him he was "real" with no pretenses or put-on's. What you saw was what you got. When he loved, he loved BIG. His kids and grandkids were his greatest joy and time spent with them was his greatest treasure.

Survivors include his children, Dallas Baker of Marshall, Amanda Baker of Marshall, Kayla Oliver (Johnny) of Marshall and Angelina Baker of Bradford; grandkids, Serenity Baker, Kenslee Oliver and Ripp Owens; three sisters, Ann Brown of Greenbrier, Charmane Baker of Beebe and Renita Hammack of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; close friends, Amanda Orange, Riley Cooper, Jesse Hinchey and family, Cody Hinchey and family, Charlie and Shirley Barnett; and many other friends, extended family and church family who will also mourn his passing.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Delia Baker and step-mom, Wilma Baker.

Funeral services for Charles will be 10:00 AM Saturday, July 1st, 2023 at the Solid Rock Apostolic Church in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Jesse Hinchey officiating. Burial will be in Chinquapin Cemetery.

Wow, I can't believe the wild man at heart, is gone. I'm so happy I got the privilege of seeing him one last time. may or June that summer, he stopped at my work. I gave him a big hug hello. How ya been And we caught up a little. I hadn't seen him since we went target shooting on the land on the mountain by the creek. A few years back, right b4 mom sold the land. He put up targets all over, for us to hit. We had a good time that day, which I'll never forget. Now he is in heaven with all our other loved ones. You will be missed. Rip buddie. Fly with the angels.

Charlie Baker was truly one of a kind & unforgettable man! I just recently had the pleasure to get to know Charlie, and what a free spirit, kind hearted, & life of the party. Such a genuine man! It feels like he was taken too soon, but what a legacy he is leaving! Charlie's life had changed so much if he wasn't working it was about Faith, Family, & Fun! He truly left his mark on this world & it will not cease! People like Charlie Baker keep giving, and you can see that part of him in all his children! Prayer for all dealing with the loss, but his life was a light & will not be forgotten!

Bro. Charlie , You was such a light & inspiration to all of us. Just watching you praise & worship Jesus with all your heart brought us so much joy. Why you had to leave us so soon!! Only God knows, his ways are not our ways. You will be missed, but your presence will forever be in our hearts at Solid Rock Apostolic Church. Until we meet again. Love sis Tammy

For us left here on this Earth it's hard not to be sad, but we can weep both tears of sadness and joy. Charlie's new relationship with Jesus and passion for life was a thing to be strive for and an inspiration. He will be missed, because he truly did light the world around him. Our only comfort is knowing we will meet him on the other side of the River one day.
Our many condolences to the family.
