of Marion, AR
January 1, 1930 - May 9, 2023
H. Berniece Chaffin, long-time resident of Marion, Arkansas passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the age of 93. She was born January 1, 1930 in Braggadocio, Missouri.
Berniece was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Vance E. Chaffin. She is survived by her children, Steven Chaffin of Dothan, Alabama, Kevin Chaffin (Lisa), Vaniece C. Boone and Cathy C. Forester of Marion, Arkansas. She was a loving "Granny" to Mileah Cobb (Rollins) of Kingston Springs, Tennessee, Cameron Forester, Jarrett Forester and MacKenzie Neumann (Tim) of Marion, Arkansas and great granddaughters, Sadie and Charlotte Cobb of Kingston Springs, Tennessee. She also leaves behind her loving caregiver, Lisa Sellers of Marion, Arkansas.
Berniece will be remembered as the mother hen of 36th Street to all the kids that grew up there. She was the smallest Mama and with a look, could strike fear in the hearts of anyone who dared to mess with the neighborhood kids. She is still remembered and loved by all of those neighborhood kids, now adults, most with children of their own.
Berniece was a loving mother and was always there for her children and grandchildren. The one thing we could always depend on was our mother's love, which continued as we grew into adults, raising our own children. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, followed by graveside services at Crittenden Memorial Park.
Peace to a very nice lady, she will be missed.
