Betty Lea Ingle

of McRae, AR

August 17, 1937 - May 9, 2023

Betty Lea Connor Ingle, 85, of McRae, Arkansas completed her earthly journey on May 9, 2023 at the Cornerstone Specialty Hospital of Little Rock with her daughter by her side. She was born on August 17, 1937 in Wellsville, Ohio to Francis Finley and Brigetta Lea Wunner Connor. She met and married Calvin E. Ingle on November 21, 1964 and had been married 34 years at the time of his death. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Francis Connor and three sisters, June Crawford, Darla Foster and Grace Kalaczynski.

She is survived by her three children, Wayne Everett (Diana) Shirey, Kevin Austin Shirey and Kathy Louise (Ralph) Greenman; one sister, Sharon Connor Miller; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Betty was an active member of Union Valley Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas and loved spending as much time there as she could. She loved to go to yard sales, being busy with arts and crafts as well as traveling as often as she could. She and Kathy were looking forward to a trip to see family in the very near future.

Betty's greatest joy in life was children. She worked as a Childcare Professional for a large part of her life and finished her working career when she retired at 74 years young from the Cabot Patch Daycare. She loved her kids and especially her grandchildren and the great-grands. She was known to have a great sense of humor, even until the very end, that could be seen as a dry wit. She was eager to be with her family anytime she could be.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Union Baptist Church in Beebe, Arkansas with visitation at 12 noon, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Howell Cemetery in the Clay Community. All services are under the direction of Roller-Daniel Funeral Home, Searcy.

Grandma Betty, I'm so blessed to have had the little time I did to get to know you. Even in that short time you made sure I knew I was loved and wanted. It was an honor to share with you the blessing of my grandbabies, making you a great-grandma 😘. I will make sure they know who you are. Thank you for embracing me with arms open wide when I reached out. I know you are having the best time in heaven and are watching us all from above. Love you until we are together again ❤️

Momma, From the minute I first met you at my house in PA. I fell in love with you. You were a strong and loving woman. Thank you for welcoming me into your home when I came to Arkansas. We may have been many miles apart but I always thought of you. I will never forget the meatloaf with way too much pepper and God love you you said it was good. I laugh every time I think of that dinner. I will always miss you momma and love you.
I am sending prayers, loving thoughts and positive energy to all her loved ones and family. Kat, my heart is broken for you, Ralph and your family. I am so sorry. Momma, don't be a stranger and please let Kat know you are watching over her. I love you Momma. Always will.

Dearest Grandma Betty,
the Lord gave you to me for such a short time. I am grateful for that time.
I will always remember the first thing that you ever said to me: "YOU SURE ARE BEAUTIFUL, JUST LIKE YOUR GRANDMA!"
You were right, you are so beautiful!
I'm sad that I'll never get to see your beautiful face again. But I know that someday we will be reunited with our heavenly father.
Rest well, I love you.

We had the honor of Ms. Betty being my first baby's "teacher" at Cabot Patch Kids 17 years ago. Ms. Betty has stayed in contact with our family through Facebook and has prayed for my baby girl throughout the years ❤️. We loved her like family and I enjoyed her posts and messages. She will be greatly missed but we rejoice knowing she is with our Lord and Savior and we will see her again.
