Nacretia Ewilda Clawson

of Olive Branch, MS

March 30, 1939 - April 8, 2023

Nacretia Ewilda (Lessel) Clawson

Died at age 84 on April 8, 2023. Known as Nikki by all her friends, was born March 30, 1939 to Alvin and Malvern Lessel. She was a late in life child having already become an Aunt days before her birth. This meant Malvern was pregnant with her last child when her daughter- in-law was pregnant with Malvern's first grandchild.

She was born and raised on the family farm just off the Star Route on the Lonoke County line. She graduated from Plum Bayou High School and left home to attend the former Arkansas Teachers College in Conway. She met and married Robert Gary Clawson; they went on to have two daughters and one grandson. Donna (Clawson) Pereira (husband Val), Karen Clawson and Robert (Bobby) Gary Pereira. With her family she moved multiple times to places including California, Colorado, Illinois and Missouri. Her marriage ended after 14 years and she eventually moved back to England, Arkansas to care for her parents and be near her extended family. After her grandson Bobby was born she moved to Olive Branch, Mississippi to be near her daughters. While her youngest daughter gave Nikki her first grand dog, her grandson Bobby was the light of her life.

A devote Christian Nikki was a member of Maples Memorial United Methodist Church in Olive Branch, MS.
Professionally she worked for the State of Missouri running the license bureau, she taught adult education at National Education Centers and worked over a decade for Roller funeral homes.
