Jason O'Neal Smith

of Memphis, TN

July 11, 1975 - April 4, 2023

Jason O'Neal Smith of Memphis passed away on April 4, 2023 at Methodist North Hospital. He was born in West Memphis on July 11, 1975 to Dewayne and Cheryle Smith.

He is survived by his mother, Cheryle Smith of Springdale; his brother, Chris Smith (Amy) of Springdale; his nephew, Dewayne Smith (Jessica) and their children, Jayde and Kali; his nieces, Brooke Smith and Zoe Smith both of Rogers and a lot of other loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his father, Curtis Dewayne Smith of Horseshoe Lake, Arkansas.

Jason was an extreme Kansas City Chiefs fan. He supported his team with his jersey top, down to his bright red shoes. When not cheering on his favorite team, Jason loved to sit in his favorite chair on the front porch, drinking a cold beer. Jason had a huge heart and was loved by everyone who met him. He worked at Empire Packing and it was his home away from home. He considered his work crew extended family.

The Smith family would like to thank everyone at Methodist North for all the help and support during our time. We would like to thank all of his Empire family for the love and support during this time as well.

To Jason and Monica Delaney, you were his rock thank you for loving him like family over the years. Please know he loved you just as much.

To Monica: - you were his only true love.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Jason
You was one of a kind brother. No matter how crappy the day was you put a smile and laugh on everyone. It will not be the same not seeing the Blue Challenger and the KC gear. You will be deeply missed brother.

Jason, you will be missed by everyone that knew you. I can't believe you aren't here with us anymore. Take care of everyone that is with you now in heaven. I know you were glad to see them, but it was so hard to lose you here. You are with family and friends in Heaven and they are so lucky to have you. We know we will see you again.

I been struggling with this one. As men, we don’t necessarily express ourselves always. But there’s no one I had more respect for. Feel like God this one wrong. Trying to make this one make sense. Condolences to the family and to Monica. It hurts my heart so much to even type this. I’m so mad. Love you bro. Rest easy. If you run into my lil bro give him a hug for me.
