Condolences to all of Buddy’s family sad to learn of his passing. I have fond memories of their visiting us in California touring Disneyland, Hollywood where he was interviewed for a television show. With his outgoing personality including his Southern drawl he was selected as a participant on the show. He charmed the audience with his comedic answers including how he would “call his hogs”. Once you’d met him he left wonderful memories. Rest in peace knowing you left memories to anyone that had the pleasure to meet you.

My heart was so sad to hear that Mr Buddy had passed. I loved him so much. He was one of my favorite friends of my dad's. I remember being in high school and my dad let me go the the Mid South Fair with Jonna, Ms Jean and Mr Buddy to show the hogs. Oh my gosh we had the best time! When we weren't hanging out with the hogs me and Jonna got to run around the fair. The Whitehead house was one of the few places my dad let me spend the night and some of my best memories of high school. He was so loved by everyone and I will miss that smile and his big hugs! Sending love and prayers to all of you. Love you Ms Jean. Chatty Cathy

So many memories growing up with all of you from our community around Gill, Holub Crossing, Oak Forest. My parents spoke of your family “back in the day” as kids and we shared many school time memories with all of the children at Lee Academy. I laughed at the post of Mr. Buddy “calling the hogs on TV”. What a memorable man! Not many of my memories of growing up did not include a Whitehead in one way or another. Teresa, my heart breaks for you! Your dad was certainly a character and you will miss him dearly. Hugs and prayers to each of you for the loss of a giant of a man.🙏❤️

They don’t come any better than Mr. Buddy. I never saw him without a smile on his face and he always had something sassy to say to put a smile on mine. Always loved seeing him and Mrs. Jean at the clinic. He will be missed tremendously. ❤️

Prayers for the family! I saw Mr. Whitehead a time or two when he came to visit Terry, and he would visit my dad! When I taught school in Elaine, I would pass by his house and always say hello! I was also friends with Connie. He was always such a good man!

Our hearts hurt but we know Mr. Buddy is causing a ruckus up in heaven —-he brought so much fun and laughter to our family here on earth so I know he is cutting up with our Dad (Jack) and Mom (Melba) in heaven. My mother, George Ballard, and Buddy went to school together and they always ask about each other when they came to vote. I looked forward to seeing them each year til 2021 when my mother and George passed on. There is a big hole where their generation has stood. I will miss all three and pray for comfort in your grief as you adjust to life without Mr. Buddy.

Buddy will be missed far and wide, but most particularly all of Lee County. He was known far and wide for his big smile and funny stories. All those stories are precious memories. Just to have the opportunity to sit and visit with Buddy was an experience you would not forget. Remember when he "CALLED THE HOGS" ON tv He became a star. May the family feel God's Comforting Arms around them during this time. Rest in Peace Buddy. You will be missed by one and all. Much love to this family.
