Lessie J. Turner Glover

of Conway, AR

March 14, 1933 - March 12, 2023

Lessie J. Turner Glover, 89 of Conway went to be with her Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born Tuesday, March 14, 1933 in Conway to the late Clyde C. Turner and the late Maudie Viola Sellers Turner. Mrs. Glover began her career with Southwestern Bell Telephone where she was one of the original switchboard operators. She moved up in the company into the business office and her specialty was "bill collecting". After working over 30+ years in the business, Mrs. Glover was well known within the community and could recite from memory hundreds of telephone numbers and names.

She was a wonderful cook that was well known for her Christmas divinity and hot yeast rolls. She loved food! Family and friends knew to guard their plate because if they had something different then she was going to get a bite.

For 69 years she was the love of her husband, Coy L. Glover. They were married on February 27, 1954 in Conway, AR by Brother Peoples. They were faithful members of Second Baptist Church for over 60 years where Les was very active in Women's Ministry and Hospitality.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved daughter, Marsha Leigh Cruse; a brother, Cecil Turner and sisters, Evelyn Robinette, Oleta Hairston, Pauline Neely, Jewel Woodard and Viola Hairston. Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Coy Glover and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Crestlawn Memorial Park on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 2:00pm with a visitation one hour prior to the service at 1:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Second Baptist Church, 2600 Dave Ward Dr, Conway, AR 72034.

I was saddened to hear about Lessie! She was one of my favorite people! I worked with her at SBC for many years! After she retired, she and Ruby Nell, her dearest friend, were my “Maids” for a number of years!
I loved every minute I spent with the two of them!
Coy, I hope you feel the love, sadness, strength and peace that Gypse and I shared with Lessie!
May God bless you and keep you!

Coy, I'm truly sorry to hear of "Aunt" Les. I know she was such a dear and close friend of my momma(Marie J.)..she told me so many wonderful stories of their friendship and she holds Aunt Les so close to her heart. I've known her as long as I can remember (my whole life) and she was an absolute BEAUTIFUL person. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family🩷

Coy. I remember when you and Lessie were our neighbors on Mitchell St. I was in Elementary school. You were both so much fun and so nice. I have always enjoyed seeing you. So sorry to hear of Lessie passing. I know she is in a much better place now. No pain or suffering and reunited with family and friends that have gone before her.

Coy,
I loved sweet Lessie so much and remember her so well especially back in the days of going to church at Factory and Polk Streets. Her laugh was so contagious and I was always greeted with a smile and a hug. Thank you for sharing her with us. My prayers are with you!
