Stephanie Houston Chamberlin

of Little Rock, AR

December 11, 1963 - March 10, 2023

Stephanie Denise Houston Chamberlin of Little Rock, Arkansas gained her wings on March 10th, 2023 at the age of 59 years old. Stephanie was born on December 11th, 1963 in Pocahontas, AR to J.F. Houston and Emogene Houston. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, sister and friend.

Stephanie is preceded in death by her father, J.F. Houston; her mother, Emogene Houston; her brothers, John Houston and Keith Houston and her nephew, Elvis Jr. Pierce. She is survived by her son, Houston Angel; her daughter, Hayden Angel; her granddaughters, Aurora Guise and Aria Bowers; her sisters, Brenda Pierce, Judy Houston, Tammy Hill; her nieces, Tarah Johnson, Heather Smallman, Kimberly Der, Amanda Ellis-Smith; her nephews, Tyler Hill and Gary Houston; her life partner, Bill Chamberlin and many extended family members and friends.

Stephanie was a 1983 Maynard High School graduate, where she was Miss Tigerette, Valedictorian and All-State basketball and softball player. Stephanie graduated class of 1988 with a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Stephanie went on to graduate law school at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, class of 1994, with her juris doctor degree. Other biographical background includes BV Distinguished, a widely respected mark of achievement. Stephanie's practice areas included Family Law, Divorce, Child Custody, Probate, Personal Injury, Collections and Product Liability.

You could find Stephanie at her happiest playing with her granddaughters. Together they enjoyed doing crafts, reading books, going for strolls, splashing in the bathtub or receiving all the snuggles. Stephanie loved the water. She loved to spend time at the lake, skiing or relaxing in the water wearing her favorite cowgirl hat. Her fur babies were like children to her. She was often seen by neighbors walking her dogs, Titan and Nala. Stephanie, in true Stephanie fashion, did everything in style. Her house was decorated to the nines for each and every holiday. Stephanie was the biggest cheerleader for her children. She was devoted to watching her son play football. She loved her Razorback football, playing cards with her friends and traveling with her life partner Bill.

Stephanie was a force to be reckoned with. She was fiercely loyal, protective, intelligent and passionate. Stephanie helped many through her line of work as well as through her relationships and friendships. Her beauty radiated intensely in any room she entered. Stephanie was the most unique soul. She was strong and fiery yet compassionate and had the biggest heart all at the same time-one extreme to the next and did nothing halfway. Her spirit and impact on those close to her will be felt forever and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Service arrangements have been made at Roller Funeral Home located at 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211. Visitation will be held on March 17th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Service will be the following day, March 18th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Joyful Heart Foundation for sexual assault survivors, 320 7th Avenue #161, Brooklyn, NY 11215, 212-475-2026, info@joyfulheartfoundation.org .

So sorry for this loss....we know Stephanie from walks in our neighborhood...and as Nala began to not want to walk as far Stephanie purchased a stroller to care for her. This allowed Nala to be outside , which illustrates her compassionate nature. We had not seen Stephanie walking/strolling with Nala for days....which was so unusual....Stephanie you are missed....rest in peace sweet neighbor.

We went to law school together, c/o '94, and we were neighbors up on the west end of Rivercrest for years. She stopped in front of my house to talk to me just a couple of weeks ago while she was on a dog walk. We had a fairly long conversation, talking about both our law school years as well as the present, and now I can't believe it was our last. My condolences to her children, Bill, and the rest of the family.

OH STEPHANIE, Where does one start we've known each other a lifetime - and there were some really great times along the way. I wish so many things had been different for you. I hope you can somehow know just how many people cared- how many people have sent prayers and thoughts your way - how many hearts are broken knowing you were hurting. You were a strong, brave and loyal person admired by many. Fly high and free and know you will be remembered- and missed! All my love, Sonya
