John William ''Bill'' Wampler, Jr, age 91, passed away Sunday, March 5th, 2023, at the Indian Rock Village Nursing Home in Fairfield Bay Arkansas.

Bill was born to John and Bertie Wampler, Sr., on December 22nd, 1931, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. As a youth he enjoyed athletics, graduated from Crystal City High School in Crystal City, Missouri and entered the Navy in 1951, serving for 4 years. After the Navy he moved to Jackson, Missouri to work with his father at JW Wampler Real Estate. Bill loved golf and in the mid-1960s he attended PGA School in Florida to become the first golf club pro at Kimbeland Country Club, and later the Cape Girardeau Country Club. Before retiring in Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, Bill had businesses in Mobile, Alabama, Los Angeles, California, Dallas and San Antonio Texas. Bill was kind ready to help others and always quick with a smile or adding a story to the conversation.

Bill is survived by his son Timothy and wife Sondra, six nieces and nephews and their spouses. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, six siblings and their spouses.

John William Wampler, Jr. was buried March 7th, 2023, at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock Arkansas.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Sunday, March 19, 2023, from 3:00pm-5:00pm at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Clinton, Arkansas.

So sorry to miss the funeral and reception with the family. We lived just at the end of the row of condo where Bill lived for many years. He was gracious very kind and enjoyed company. I did not realize he was back in Fairfield Bay after moving away a few years ago. he made us feel very welcome when we first moved here more than ten years ago.
