Loia Gaye Rhoden-Hoyt, age 87, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 at her home in Conway, Arkansas. She was born July 5, 1935 in Cypress, Arkansas to Carl and Dora (Thomas) Rhoden. She was a 1953 graduate of Morrilton High School and worked as a homemaker and church volunteer.
Gaye is survived by her husband of 69 years, Gene Hoyt and their five children, Tim (Kathy) Hoyt of Ruidoso, NM; Mark Hoyt of Conway, AR; Bridget (late Alan) Kolb of Mooresville, NC; Melissa (Robert) Hartman of St. Vincent, AR; Cindy (Maury) Sanchez of Conway, AR; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Gaye was second born of 7 children with five sisters, including the late Frances Hopkins of Marshall, TX, Sue Lancaster of Abilene, TX, Phyllis Williams of Texarkana, TX; the late Judy Stoffers of Dallas, TX; the late Patsy Ann Harris of Saint Cloud, FL and one brother, the late Tom Rhoden of Abilene, TX.
Rosary will be Wednesday, at 10AM followed by visitation at 10:30. Funeral mass will begin at 11AM, with interment immediately following with Father Jack Harris and Father Joseph Friend officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice Homecare of Conway: 821 North Creek Dr. Conway, AR. 72032.
