Betty Gee, 83, of Little Rock, Arkansas died March 7, 2023 after a long journey with Alzheimer's disease. She was born on February 22, 1940 in Flat River, Missouri to Raymond and Della Buxton. She moved to North Little Rock as a high school senior and graduated in 1958. After graduation, she attended Little Rock University, and earned a bachelor's degree in education in 1962. There she was a member of the Zeta Phi sorority, and made many life-long friends. She married Jimmy, in 1963. She worked as a middle-school science teacher and librarian and retired from the Central Arkansas Library System.

She had a great passion for books and reading. She loved playing with her children, creating Halloween costumes for them and sewing dresses for her girls. She was a worthy competitor at Trivial Pursuit, Jeopardy and Wheel-of-Fortune and played in several bridge clubs. She spent many of days at the lake with her family. She was an active member of First Christian Church, where she was involved with women's and children's ministries. She loved music, especially playing the handbells. She had a clever sense of humor and was quick to laugh.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Don Buxton. Betty is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Jim; her brother, Lee Buxton; brother-in-law, Bob Gee; three children, David (Allison), Melaney (Lea) and Amanda; four grandchildren, Max and Maddie Gee and Hattie and Elizabeth Walrod; as well as many nieces and nephews.
