Del Walter Mariner, 87, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 4, 2023. He was born December 19, 1935, in Backus, Minnesota to the late William Harley Mariner and Gertrude Neumann Mariner. Del graduated from Ole Main High School in North Little Rock in 1954. He was a letter carrier for the U.S.Postal Service in Sherwood, Arkansas and retired after 22 years of service; he also retired from the Arkansas Air National Guard after 20 total years of service as a Technical Sergeant. After his retirement from the U.S. Postal Service, he worked part-time at Moore Funeral Home in Cabot and then Roller Chenal Funeral Home after he and Linda moved to Little Rock from Cabot in 1999. He was also a member of First Assembly of God Church in North Little Rock.
Along with his parents, Del is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Linda; and brother, Joseph Mariner. Del is survived by children, Lynda (Steve) Sherrill and Phillip (Judy) Mariner; grandchildren, Amanda Sherrill; Steven (Kassia) Sherrill; Angela Sherrill Merriott; Stephanie (Carolyn) Murry and Amber (Mike) Pirnique; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Taylor Sherrill; Aidan and Baron Merriott; Elizabeth and Olivia Carter and Bela Pirnique; one brother, John (Mary Jo) Mariner and half-sister, Margaret Beasley as well as his beloved cats, Knight and Raven.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, March 10, 2023, in the chapel of Roller Chenal Funeral Home with Pastor Tyler Loy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 am Friday. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Beebe Cemetery in Beebe, Arkansas.
So sorry to you Lynda and Philip, I was reading our Sunday paper and I saw the memorial for your most kind father. May he rest in blessed peace with God together with your sweet mother. Del was a caring man who was loved and respected by everyone. He served his community and country throughout his life. He will be missed.
I was honored to have worked with Del at Roller Chenal for many years. He was so pleasant to be around and did a wonderful ministry serving people who had lost their loved ones. I always looked forward to working with him. I know his family must have many wonderful memories to cherish. May our Lord comfort you during this difficult time.

Mr. Del was one of a kind. I enjoyed working and talking sports with him- especially Texas Rangers baseball. He was always cheerful and professional. I know he is healed and reunited with his sweet wife.
