Karen, how do I even begin to say goodbye. We were supposed to grow old together. My earliest memory of you that we would laugh and laugh about was our Easter Outfits. You came over with the same purple dress, white shoes and white purse. Everyone accused our Mom’s of doing that on purpose but they really didn’t. We were so excited to be dressed alike. We even got our picture in the newspaper at McArthur Park on the seesaw. Us laughing until we cried at everything. Playing softball together and skating every year at the rink for my birthday parties. Us going to each others grandmothers house to stay and your Mom threatening to whoop us because we got stuck going round and round with the boat in the pond. A friend reminded me of all of our gang going to the Jr/Sr prom in the limo and your purple hooped prom dress flying up over your head when we got in the limo. Me being with you for the birth of your first child and you laughing at me because I packed your bag and said that I wasn’t about to deliver that child at home because you were trying to wait until Vance and Bret got home from delivering the newspapers to Fordyce. You being the Maid of Honor and helping me plan the entire wedding to being pregnant at the same time and going deer hunting together and we big as barrels. We had to sit on the ground giggled and giggled the entire time. You coming and staying with me when we brought our first baby home and keeping her for me when I went back to work.

After spending years apart while we raised our own families we reconnected. Although it wasn’t the same as being kids again, we laughed and said we were having a bunking party. You came and spent the night with me and the laughter from our childhood memories became even more special. I will hold on to for the rest of my life.

Until I get to see you again my sweet angel. Give my Mom the biggest hug for me.
