Chris Nelson, 72, of Jonesboro passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at St Bernard's Medical Center. He was born September 16, 1950 in Urbana, IL. Chris was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He worked for International Paper and after retirement he worked at Hilton Garden Inn, in hotel maintenance. Chris was a member of North Main Baptist Church. He also enjoyed golfing and camping.
Preceded in death by his parents, Dayle and Yvonne Nelson; brother, David Nelson and sister, Paula Nelson.
Survivors include, his wife of 36 years, Denise (Griffin) Nelson; daughter, Ambie and Michael Vandermark, Jr; grandson, Michael and Ellen Vandermark III and granddaughter, Ava Vandermark; brother, Craig Nelson.
A memorial service will be Saturday, February 18, 2023, 11:00 am at North Main Baptist Church with Jarrid McGrew officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of service.
