of Mountain Home, AR
February 10, 1943 - January 20, 2023
Edna-Marie Jones Fusco of Mountain Home died January 20, 2023 at Care Manor Nursing Home.
Edna was born to Verne and Edna Jones at Hinsdale, Illinois on February 10, 1943. She was raised at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Illinois. She was a graduate of Lisle High School. Edna attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa and the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle campus, where she graduated with a doctorate degree in pharmacy.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Brent, who died in 1996. She is survived by her husband, Frank; son, Evan Fusco of Nixa, Missouri and daughter, Danielle Diemer of Mayflower, Arkansas. She has three grandchildren, Heath, Brendan and Amarra Fusco. She has three siblings, Patricia Blaida of Illinois, Edward Jones of Indiana and Verna Jones Grady of Colorado.
Edna married Frank Fusco in 1965 in Lisle, Illinois. They moved to southern Indiana in 1970, where they owned and operated several businesses. In 1976, the family moved to Baxter County. Edna worked as a community pharmacist in several capacities for many years, until retiring from Walmart.
In her early years, Edna was an avid dancer and appeared in many musical productions. The show Cabaret was one of her favorites. Danielle became an avid dancer like her mother. Edna was an assistant instructor at the Delloyd School of Dance during those years.
While living in Indiana, she and Frank became involved in shooting traditional muzzle loading rifles and reenacting early American history. Edna accumulated many medals and awards for shooting. After moving to Arkansas, she continued her shooting avocation in both competition and hunting. During one of her most memorable hunting experiences, she harvested two deer in one day.
The family raised Maine-Anjou cattle and showed them locally and at other fairs in Arkansas and Missouri. She also raised hogs and once took the grand championship at the Baxter County Fair.
Frank and Edna were both very active in the Republican Party of Baxter County and the state. Edna was elected to the Baxter County Quorum Court, where she served proudly for six years.
In retirement years, she took pleasure raising plants and flowers, especially orchids and watching deer in the couple's backyard in Baxter County.

Remember Edna as a young lady who taught my children to dance ! Enjoyed watching her dance also ! Prayers for all the family.
I had the pleasure of working with Mrs. Edna at Medicap Pharmacy. Genuinely one of the kindest hearts I've ever known. Her passion and way she carried herself left such an indelible impression upon the younger me and one I've looked up to all these years later. She was truly such an amazing woman with a zest for life, politics, and most of all her family.
Dearest Fusco family, my deepest sympathies and condolences to you all as you grieve the loss of a dear mother, wife, grandmother, sister and all around wonderful woman. Edna was a kind and loving person. I know she will be missed. Sending my love and thoughts.-Molly
My condolences to the Fusco family. I haven't seen Edna in over 25 years, but she was a very kind lady. I am sad to hear the news of her passing.
Our sincere condolences on the passing of Edna. We spent many years as friends. She will be missed.
Edna had a very full life and I am proud to have been part it. We were together in grade school, high school, Girl Scouts, modern dancing and many reunions over the years. She is my daughter's Godmother and loved to talk to me about gardening. Over 70 years of friendship is certainly something to treasure. Rest in peace, dear Edna.
God bless u and your family. Known u since fourth grade. Many good memories.

Edna was a sweet lady. We have fond memories of working with her and band activities. So very sorry for your loss.
Thank goodness for memories; school days in Lisle, IL, growing up together in a small town, enjoying days at the Morton Arboretum, ice skating in winter on the DuPage River, and so many things friends have in common. During later years meeting up on trips to Texas, Florida and Palm Springs. A lifetime of laughs and sometimes tears. Friends!
Always a smile and helpful to everyone and excited about her family, dancing, beauty pageants, politicks, concerts/shows and took interest in everything around her. What a gal!
Rest in peace my friend--till we meet again in a better place.
Thank goodness for memories!!
I didn't get to see Edna often after both leaving Walmart. She was a dear friend and I will miss her so much.
So sorry to hear of Edna's passing. She was a wonderful friend
Edna after retiring here, spent a lot of time in contributing back to the Baxter County community. Was an integral part of the TLRW, BCRC and served JP district 8 very well for at least 3 terms. Always had a smile and great desire to help her constituents and all of Baxter County. Well known across AR in Republican circles Always wanting to improve and help to do so to make things better then she found them. I recall the trip that she, Lucy Soltysik and I took to D.C in 2018, representing AR and our beloved County at the White House and other Federal meetings especially at NACO. She even saved us a front row seat when we were in the Eisenhower building with numerous cabinet level speakers, Senator Boozman, Sarah Sanders and VP Mike Pence. Never will forget though, the night all three of us spent in the Detroit Airport termina on the return trip home, because of weather and a missed plane! Was a miserable night, lots of interesting sites, but like a trooper, she weathered it well. Rest in Peace Edna and our thoughts with the family. Been great knowing and working with you over the years.
Rest in peace Edna and say hello to mom and dad for me. You will be dearly missed.
Edna was such a lovely lady, always smiling. I am sorry for the loss to the family and friends.
When I moved to Mtn. Home in 1978, Edna was one of the first Republican woman I met. She was always friendly and if I had a question, she would help me. She will be missed. God Bless you, Edna.
